Mauro Ranallo. Chris Hero. NOAH needs your help behind the desk more than ever.

Is commentary what Chris Hero is up to nowadays or is he still working as an enhancement talent for WWE somewhere?

Nah dude. He got cut during black Wednesday. Looking to make a move to the indies, presumably in Europe or Japan since he hasn't popped up for any US feds. Or AEW are just saving him for post lockdown. He actually did commentary for PWG and is a NOAH loyalist thanks to his mentorship from Misawa, so that's where the idea came from.

Wow, I guess I missed him.

I shouldn't be surprised though since Chris Hero's WWE career barely had a chance in the first place. :worry:

Going to one of those promotions might be the best thing for him. I'm not sure what his relationship with Ring of Honor is, at the moment.

Second place.  He went back twice. Guess the money was that damn good.

I'm guessing not great. First place he went after the first leave from WWE. Challenged Adam Cole for the world title but that was it. Enjoyed the freedom of being an indy journeyman up for the highest bidder I guess. Tons of work being PWGs star attraction. I'll have to check but he might be living in the UK now due to his regular work with NXT UK and their Eurosphere of feeder feds. Funny how it's Europe WWE has the most dominant hold over and not North America.

I wonder what NXT UK's purpose is? (I know what its purpose is.)

I'm just saying that if an NXT UK wrestler showed up on a Raw or SmackDown on a non-UK tour show I would have no clue who they were

because they barely have a presence on WWE's US Youtube channel.

To monopolize on the then booming UK wrestling scene and it's fans so no one else could.

Oh. I thought it was so they could bring them to the main roster and do nothing of note with them until they are eventually let go.

NXT, NXT UK. Same thing. A waste of time, IMO.

Considering that it's failed as a developmental and an alternative to the flagships, yeah that's an accurate statement.

There will never be an "alternative" wrestling show produced by WWE no matter how many times they say otherwise.

WWE ___ will always be WWE due to the way their shows are structured.

Not necessarily. NXT was working as an alternative. You wouldn't have had such fervor and acclaim otherwise. It felt different because it was different. And had it stayed on the network, NXT would've stayed that way. But then they brought it to cable and used it to counter program AEW. The simulation of an alternative was now going against the genuine article. Theory did not translate to reality. The immersion of an alternative was broken. That was the failure.

I think the fact that I didn't know what I was missing made NXT seem more exciting/interesting than it actually is.

Truth be told, it just looks like a bunch of overbooked PPV matches and overhyped gimmicks to me.

One year later it is. Prior to that it very much was the hype. It was excellent.... for a WWE show.

One has to wonder if Raw and SmackDown will become more like classic NXT once Vince McMahon goes or

if they will move on like nothing has changed.

Considering that it looks like Bruce Prichard will be the man in charge after H's demotion, I'd say the latter.

Well, that stinks. It seems like WWE Raw and SmackDown will be stuck in their ways forever. :worry:

Until the investors and networks say otherwise, it seems that way.

The investors, much like the wrestlers, seem hesitant to speak their minds and the networks seem pretty happy as long as WWE fulfills their

commitments.

More like they don't really know or care as long as the company keeps growing. They're not wrestling fans. They're investors. They see WWE making money through media, merch sales, a subscription service and lots of ad revenue, and have done so for decades. They want in on that action. They don't particularly care how it's done.

I own stock in apple. Doesn't mean I use their products. They just make money for me. Same with WWE investors.

Yeah.

It is because of this that I don't see them doing anything if Vince is as "out of touch" as the IWC likes to claim.

"Vince needs to leave!" you'll see them say, but if Vince McMahon leaves it will stay the same as it always has because despite what a majority

of fans think, WWE is more profitable than ever.

Majority of wrestling fans think. Majority of legit WWE fans aren't complaining. They think it's fine. Anyone who thinks there needs to be serious change has pretty much already left. Only the 50+ die hard demo remains. A niche within a niche.

I honestly can't find a single wrestler on any show (AEW included.)that makes me feel like I want to say "I'm going to watch ___ to see ___!".

I miss the days when I didn't care as long as wrestling was on.
