That was them forcing two guys from a straight man role into comedy acts. Both work better as serious dudes paired with someone naturally funny.

I don't remember Scott Taylor being funny with Albert or Brian Christopher and Rikishi.

Well no. X-Pac and Scotty 2 Hotty did better jobs. Just because they play the crooked part doesn't mean they're necessarily funny either.

I think X-Pac did a great job during his time teaming with and later feuding with Kane.

Kane seems to like X-Pac more than Bryan Danielson. :ooh:

Kane. The tag partner every vanilla midget in WWE never knew they needed.

But now I wanna see the inverse of that. Charismatic big guy, serious little guy. Like Kevin Nash and Low Ki.

I don't think Low Ki can emote anything besides "intense".  :unamused:

Yeah, he's gone all in on his agent 47 cosplay. Decent match against Bandito for House of Glory. I guess he's just a NYC indy guy now. One of the few good bouts on that dumpster fire of a show.

He probably did, but then realized like CD did that it didn't look great.

It made some guy named Stone Cold Steve Austin a semi-popular wrestler, too. :orly:

Fun fact: The hair was on it's way out even during his stunning days. You didn't notice the blonde in Hollywood Blonde slowly shrinking?

I'm not super familiar with the Hollywood Blondes career as a tag team, TBH.

Well, let's just say Austin was looking his hair faster than Hogan.

Well, Hulk Hogan had an excuse...Years of "Hulking up", brother! Harnessing the power of the Hulkamaniacs for years must have cost Hulk his hairline.

Are you saying Hogan is Saitama's dad?

Inherited his squash match powers from him at least. Some people just don't know what to do with hairloss.

Can't say that about Simon Gotch. Y'all remember him from the Vaudvillians right?  Him and Aiden English took the turn of the century carny wrestler concept and made it work in NXT, while also giving Leva 'Blue Pants' Bates her first big break. And then WWE turned them into generic heels. English worked out well as RuRu's manager before he got too over and they did a dumb split. Now he's a fulltime commentator for Impact/ NJPW Strong.

Gotch on the other hand, managed to reinvent himself, turning that hairloss into a Misfits' 'Devil Lock' hairdo and ended up standing across from an MMA pioneer.

I liked hearing Aiden English sing. :o He's also a Guerrero family member by marriage, too, btw.

Welp, Ricky Steamboat feels the need to top Flair's retirement match, which isn't exactly a high bar to clear. So we're getting one last round of the dragon!

https://lastwordonsports.com/prowrestling/2022/09/26/ricky-steamboats-last-match/

So who should he face? I really want Tanahashi. He's a modern Steamboat in his own right. But he knows how to heel it up and can make The Dragon look like a million bucks.

Chris Jericho. After all he was the one who helped show fans in 2009 that "The Dragon"'s still got it.

That's a possibility. But also kinda predictable. Tony really gonna have the ROH world champ lose to Steamboat. What's the point in coming out of retirement if it's for an older Jericho to face an even older Steamboat in a match that's gonna be sub-par compared to their last one? But not gonna lie, Ricky Steamboat retiring as ROH world champ does sound nice.

Isn't the ROH title in it's current iteration pretty much meaningless at this point? Do they even have a show on television?

Not yet. Though they still put on PPVs and was defended by Gresham traveling champ style before the buyout. So it's kinda like the NWA world title was five years ago.

Wanna know about every single metal shirt Eric Rowan wore during his WWE career?

Do I?

Yes, WWE. You go right ahead and attach your name to a game that has nothing to do with wrestlers or wrestling. :P
