I was waiting on chip. But fixed now. And yes I am going with a headcannon theory, That a cutiemark is nothing but a personal matrix that makes it easier to learn and master things pertaining to ones special purpose.

 

Dashia's is anything to do with engineering and inventing. Focus on inventing then the rest. BTW, she is still thinking About those joints she has. They need tweaks to fix the overburdening problem.

My self as an OC is an alicorn who discovered that very theory. His special purpose is spell matrices. He Can do anything as long as their is a spell matrix for it. He also claims that the Elements of Harmony are one massive matrix that needs the 6 bearers to fully power.

A spell matrix being a tool to enhance the casting of spells.

 

Spells are not just used by unicorns. Pegasus weather magic and earthpony magic all qualify for enhancement by spell matrix.

Well Applejack's farm is one example. Earth ponies tend the land as pegasi control the weather. So if all other things were equal, an earth pony farm would be more prosperous than a unicorn one. Earth pony magic is just more subtle and slow than *zap* reconstituted matter!

 

Example: When Smart Cookie first got to Equestria and picked up the fertile soul, a plant sprouted to life just from being held in her hoof.

How exactly? I wont say no to a powerful weapon, but this idea of his is also has something to do with replicating a legendary weapon from his childhood. There's more than just firepower as a reason behind creating this weapon.

 

By the way, I've been playing fallout new vegas a lot lately, and I realised that Minotaurs would most closely be related to the tribals of zion, except that they originate from a vault. You could see it as a mix of the great khans with a zion tribalistic attitude. Not sure if that helps, since I don't know if there's a zion equivalent in the FOE lore, but it may help a little.

Actually though that connection works even better! My idea was to convince the tank's spirit to part with the cannon by offering it passage into the astral plane but if instead it transfers into something of personal significance, that would be something the spirit couldn't pass up!

That part isn't strictly defined and a part of me thinks it's not meant to be. However, I think machine spirits, by their nature as being post-industrial entities would not be as angry for messing about with their physical shells. Being the host to something as deliberately malevolent and torturous as the virus though . . .

 

Imagine if the spirit then was offered the chance to fight against those that imbued it with such a horror . . .

Well the rules state that if an item is imbued with a machine spirit, at the very basic level it will never drop below "used" quality. So the maintenance will be easier.
