what are warning points? it says i have "0" but what are they for? are they bad?

If you do something against the rules here on the Forums, and it's not bad enough to get you band, then you'll get warning points.

And they'll stick with you for a while. Still trying to work off mine.... again

25 points are taken off each month if I remember correctly

Week, not month. 

 

You get about 300 warning points or so, you get a temporary ban. Any more than that and the bans get worse and worse until you're outright banned from the site indefinitely..

 

In short: yes, warning points are bad. Avoid them at all costs.

On a side note, no one but you and mods can see your warning points, if I'm not mistaken. So, you don't have to be embarrassed if you get any-no one will really know you made a mistake.

Warning points are used to correct behavior in members, and as mentioned above they decay over time. You can read more about them at this link.
