Icarus looked up from were he had landed. It was in the snowy plains again. He looked around, able to see almost every pony. He stood up slowly, and noticed some small droplets of blood on the ground near him. " Cant be anything bad" He muttered to himself. He walked forward a bit, looking for radiant. Now was the time for him to case his healing spell. But before he could do anything, he fell to his knees, as a nauseating wave came over him.

 

"What....what is this.....I..." Icarus thought to himself.

caliber's eyes sparked. "that sounds awesome!!" he jumped onto the snowball, with ice blizzard, did a quick headcount to see everyone was okay, and started rolling it down the hill. "wait. how are we supposed to stop?" he asked. they continued down. "i guess you dont..."

Blizzard replied with excitement, "That's right you don't! Haha! We stop when we hit something!" They continuously rolled down the hill in the snowball like most cartoon characters and crashed into Tyra, "Whoooo that was fun!! Oh, sorry Tyra, are you ok?" He pulls her out the snow and brushes her off, "You ok? I told ya Caliber!!! Wasn't that fun?!"

Tyra perked up as she heard yelling, and turned around just in time to get a giant snowball in the face.

She let out a muffled yelp from shock.

 

She was knocked back a bit, face-first in the snow. She felt blizzard lift her back onto her hooves, and she shook herself off like a wet dog.

"I have not been hit with a snowball that size since I was a filly!" She laughed.

caliber, however, had been gathering snow, making a single, huge snowball. it was half the size of a house! "hey! take this!" he shouted to ice blizzard and tyra, burying them in snow. "ahahahaha!" he ran off, looking for his next victim..."hey! radiant!" he called, gathering more snow. "snows good for numbing pain, right?"

Blizzard laughed sheepishly, "Hehe sorry about that. Are you ok? You're not hurt or anything right? Because if you aren't, let's have a snowball fight until Radiant finds us and tells us to drop and give him 20?" Blizzard raised a snowball in his hoof and had this expression on his face:   

Then he was hit, "I'm hit! Whaddya say axe girl, should we get him back?"

Icarus tore off his mask and vomited into the snow. After cleansing his system, he took several deep breaths as a dizzying feeling came over him. He slowely made his way down to everyone else before collapsing to the ground again, feeling another wave of nausea. Icarus thought what was wrong, and finally realized it. It might have been the dead bodies and the contact with prisoners without his suite..... did they have some kind of pathogen ?

Tyra blinked as she was smacked in the face with a glob of snow. She shook it off and laughed. Snowball fights were always a great game back home.

 

She was about to join in, but she spotted Icarus doubled over, looking incredibly unwell.

"I shall join you both soon," she told Blizzard, before trotting over to the medic and leaning down to look at him, "are you well, friend?"

"are you well, friend?"

 

"Stay  your distance !" ICarus said quickly, " Don't come near me without some form of protection..... I... I think I contracted something from down there.... and it is extremely fast working..." ICarus said, feeling even more dizzy and having his vision burr. For a moment, sounds seemed to echo, as if the were in a long hallway of some sort, only for them to return to normal. His whole body was feeling strange.

Blizzard threw a homing snowball to Caliber and joined Tyra, "Go homing snowball find Caliber! Wait Tyra lemme join ya-- oooh Icarus you don't look well, wait lemme back up. Ok what can we do to help you man? Is there anything at all we can do, we're here for ya man don't worry."

piff. the snowball exploded on the back of caliber's head. "oh, that it." he said, as he started gathering up snow, forming a huge snowball. "yooouuu aaarreee deeeaaaad!" he yelled as he ran towards ice blizzard, intent on knocking him off the mountain.

Blizzard heard Caliber yell, "Whoops! Evasion!" He then grabs Caliber and picks him up to keep him from falling off the mountain, "Gotcha be more careful buddy you don't wanna fall off something and die. Now.......think fast! Aha!" He quickly threw a snowball in Caliber's face and started running and made a snow fort, "Aha you can't breach this corridor! It's impenetrable!!" *starts flinging snowballs at Caliber*

caliber drew his sword, and started slicing through them. "wanna bet?!" he steadily got closer, and kicked a hole into it, and started using magic to machine gun snowballs into ice blizzards face. "hahahhahaha! i am the champion!" he declared, "im the best! hahaha!"

Tyra perked up from Icarus's sudden warning to stay back, and obeyed it. He certainly looked very sick, perhaps he did catch something from the bodies?

 

"I have heard that corpses can carry diseases," she muttered to herself, then glanced down to the plague doctor, "rest yourself, friend. We will move on when we are all able."

 

She trotted over to Radiant, who was still collapsed in the snow, and tried to help him to his hooves.

"How are you faring, friend?"

As Radiant was still lying in the snow he could hear caliber and blizzard goofing around. As he was gritting his teeth at their sudden choice to goof off Tyra walked up to him.

 

Tyra helped Radiant to his hooves putting Radiant in a lot of pain. He winced AT the pain as he got on all four hooves and took a step. "I'm to injured to be any use, my ribs are broken and our medic is incapacitated. But we need to get back to the outpost." He said taking another step almost collapsing.

As Radiant tryed to get up,lightning struck near him.Frying the place,and living behind one small letter.Unlike the snow that was black from lightning strike,letter was pure white color.And it head initials R.S. on it.

 

I believe you are smartest one in a group dear,so il talk to you.Is not that exciting?.

I believe you should regrupe and head back to your little outpost west from here.You and your teammates should be there before sunset in couple of hours,you don't want to be out here at night my dear.

I belive il contact you later again.Just remember "The die has been cast"

Tyra perked up from the lightning strike, frying and melting the snow around her and Radiant. She cocked her head at the resulting letter, and gave it a curious sniff.

Her ears pulled back, and she pulled a scowl. "It smells like the witch."

 

She watched as Radiant read the letter, looking over his shoulder at it.

 

"We must return to the outpost soon, my friend," she reminded him, "You must let me lead, you are in no condition to fight!"

Icarus stood up, his body feeling normal a bit. He stumbled over towards the group, but kept his distance. " Blasted disease..." He said, trying to retain his calm composure.  He marched over near everyone, and sat down, feeling another dizzy spell hitting him. He unfortunately didnt have anything in his bag for pathogens, most had been used on the slaves....

As Radiant was struggling to his hooves, about of lightning struck close to him. He was hardly affected by sudden strike, what he found curious is that a letter with his initials was lying on the snow where the lightning struck.

 

Radiant took the letter in his magic, carefully opening it. He read it as he sat in the snow with a small smirk on his face. As he furthered down the letter the smirk on his face disappeared.

 

"Gah, I'm getting tired of these games." He said dropping the letter in the snow.

 

He looked back to Tyra forcing himself onto his hooves "you all need to get moving leave me behind, I'll catch up. You lead the others they need a solid rock to stand on if they are to make it back. You need to help the injured ahead as well including Icarus. If Icarus isn't returned to the outpost soon enough he could die. You'll need to carry him, use a saddle bag and strap it around your snout." He commanded limping forward leaving the letter in the snow.

"M-my mask has a sealing spell on it.... it makes it near impossible for any kind of pathogen to get into it..... I should have been wearing it around the bodies...." Icarus was talking to himsself. He looked over to Radiant, at his request to leave him behind.

 

"N-no, I...I can walk" Icarus said standing up. As soon as he did, a wave of nausea hit him. Losing his balance, he stumbled around before plopping back into the snow. "Blast it.." he mumbled.

 

To be careful not to spread the disease furthr, he but his mask back on, hopefully to help contain it.

"Nay!" Tyra cried, eyes narrowed up at Radiant, "I vowed that the sick and injured would all make it back to the outpost together! Icarus is sick, and you are injured, so that includes you two! I will carry you both if I must!"

 

She looked around the area, hoping something there would give her an idea. Like at least an old abandoned cart or something. But she meant it when she said she'd carry them both.

 

"Nopony shall be left behind," she muttered, sounding absolutely sure, "not while I draw breath!"

Radiant stood up firm in front of Tyra against the pain and got in close to her, his face was only a few inches from hers. "You will do as you're commanded, if I slow you all down then we can lose more ponies. If we lose Icarus then we may lose them all, plus you have that crippled pony you made a vow to make sure he survived." He said sternly with a solid tone in his voice. "So forget me and get your flank moving!"

Tyra sneered up at Radiant, but she caught herself before she barked out a retort.

 

He was right; she'd made a vow to that pony that he would make it to the outpost and get treated.

A Shatterhoof never breaks their vow, not for anything or anypony.

 

She let out a long sigh, glancing downward.

"Very well, I will lead the others," she nodded, then looked back up to him with a stern face, "but once they are at the outpost, I will return to help you!"

 

She dashed out to the path leading westward, propping the crippled pony on Icarus's back, then Icarus up on her own back, and grabbing a saddlebag on her snout.

"Everypony, we are moving out now! Make sure the injured follow us closely! If we move now, we will arrive by sundown!"

Radiant watched as Tyra ran around gathering every pony. He stepped forward "everypony is to follow Tyra's command, that is final!" He shouted so even Caliber and blizzard could hear him. "Tyra have somepony else carry Icarus or the injured pony that's on your back. He shouldn't be that close to Icarus just in case!"

Our heroes and rescued prisoners start walking away from Radiant quit unheroically.They moved slow but stil much fester than Radiant could and soon Radiant lost them from his sight.Shadows started to appear around Radiant,and sinister laugh could be heard from them.And than from one shadow pull jumped out mysterious mare.She head grin on her face,and she started to walk around Radiant slowly "O...would you look at that.Hehehe.Big mighty leader left to die and rot on this cold..." she passed with her tail right in front of Radiant face "And i tough you are leading group of some glorious bunch,but.Hehehehe.They are just unskilled,untrusted bunch..." she sat on ground right in front of Radiant.She removed a hood to relive her quit unusual hair,it was orange,short and pointy with a horn in middle of it.She looked at Radiant tilted her head little and with big puppy dog eyes,and voice like she is about to start crying said "You must be relly hurt,but you know I can help you......."
