Red blinked at Ice Blizzard. "Camouflage could work," she agreed, pleased with the suggestion. "The swamp is relatively dark. And since Tyra is a little smaller than the rest of us, that will make her even harder to see. By the fact that the Djinn have not seen us unless we come out to talk to them, we can assume they have the senses of a regular pony and not much keener, so it shouldn't be too unsafe."

"Woah, woah, WOAH." Caramel said, stopping abruptly. "How... when... where in Luna's name did you get the paint from?" Caramel asked blankly, completely at a loss. "I... you just..." she spluttered for some time, then calmed herself. "Right. Camouflage. Camouflage sounds great!" she said, in a slightly higher pitched tone than was normal for her.

Tyra let out a yelp from being sneak-attacked by paint, and cough and spluttered. She fixed Ice with a look of pure rage.

"Why you-!" She growled, stomping toward him, then froze, expression totally loosened into wide-eyed realisation, "Wait...of course! Camouflage!"

 

She grabbed Ice's shoulders and shook them, grinning widely. "You are a genius!!"

 

She blinked. "Though, where did you get that paint...?"

Blizzard giggled and replied, "Don't you remember? I bought the paint from the store a while back. All we need to do is conceal ourselves, and we can slip right in with them." he then playfully splashed paint onto his team, "You wanna look jungle-y don'tcha?"

Red, with a stoic expression, began rolling around in the paint that had splashed on the ground. This also collected sticks, mud and leaves into her fur-- but that was fine. Helped the camouflage.

 

Anyway, she was a paint. This made sense. She inwardly chuckled at her joke.

"this makes no sense whatsoever." caliber said suddenly, watching red roll around in the dirt, and looking at tyra's dripping body. "i mean, if they have a good sense of smell, then this wont work!"
 

he found a rather big fruit, and cracked it open. there was a fair amount of juice inside. he splashed this on tyra. "there we go!"

For a moment, Blizzard thought about what Caliber said. They were right. Needing to look and smell like them to fit in, was important, so he went over to a tree, kicked it, and a fruit landed onto his head, releasing the juice onto him.

 

"Haha. Perfectionay!" he said happily, "Now for something else..."

 

Ice then started to go upside-down and stand on his head with ease, "Now guys. Calm yourselves. Be the plant. Slow your energy. We also have to think like one of these things too you know." he said as he closed his eyes while doing a headstand.

Ticktock quickly put up a shield to protect himself from the shower of paint Blizzard threw at him "Thanks but no thanks I can do my own camouflage... plus it is almost impossible to get stains out from this suit." Ticktock then cast a spell with made him turn into/look like a bush "Ok lets go."

Tyra tensed up as Caliber splashed fruit juice all over her, and gave her head a vigorous shake.

"What is with everypony and splashing me with things today?" She muttered to herself.

 

She noticed Red gathering twigs and leaves to stick in her fur, and she followed suit. The more camouflage, the better.

 

"If everypony is ready, let us move," She whispered, beginning exaggerated sneak back the way they came.

"Wee, jungle time. Look at me! I'm a plant-pony!" Caramel said ecstatically, grabbing a fruit from a nearby tree herself and bashing her horn through it, causing juice to spray over her face. She licked absently at the juice she could reach. Hm. Tastes pretty good, actually. "Right, ready to go!" Caramel said cheerfully, picking up two sticks from the ground and sticking them experimentally on her head with the paint, near her ears. She looked at herself in the reflection of the empty paint can. "I'm a deer, guys," she announced, "Look at my antlers."

"You have three antlers, I see" Red observed to Caramel, poking Caramel's horn and smirking slightly. "You can be a uni-deer, I guess." She wasn't worried about splashing a fruit on her face as the fruits the others had broken had splashed on her somewhat. Not to mention, all she smelled like now was a pile of mud.

 

Red followed Tyra quietly.

Tyra glanced back at Caramel upon hearing her declaration of being a deer, and smirked at her 'horns'.

 

She grabbed a pair of branches and proceeded to attach them to her own head. She turned to her allies with a beaming grin.

"I am a bull!" She declared, puffing out her chest, "A swamp bull! I am the first of a new species!"

And as our heros started to yell,and laugh thos misteris plant thet where appered thet morning started to glow onces again,with white plue light,same as before when they where and tryed to chere up Ice Blizzard.But unlike thet time they did not exploade,they just started to glow bright as light.

Blizzard took note of everypony's camouflage, and was already planning out a route for which they could travel. But while he stood on his head, he saw some upside-down plants and pointed at them, "Plants spotted guys...." he said softly as he fell onto his back, "Act like you're one of them...."

Caramel grinned broadly at Tyra, then began attempting to attach sticks to her sides. "One minute, trying to be an ali-deer..." she muttered, then jumped as she saw the bright light emerge from plants all around them. She muttered some combination of a prayer and a curse under her breath, then said louder, "What the hay are those, anyway? It's like the lights are following us." She shook the sticks off her morosely. "Well, I'm ready to head," she said grumpily.

 

She glanced briefly at Ice at his suggestion. "Alright, I'm a plant," she said, humor entering her tone again. She flopped onto her side and stuck out her tongue, imitating a dead pony or something of the sort.

Red groaned as the plants appeared, with terribly bright light.

 

"We've got to be quieter. Caramel, be quiet," Red snapped, more snappily just because she wasn't forgetting Caramel's earlier quip. "Let's go. We'll try and sneak around the djinn, right?" she said to Tyra mostly.

Tyra winced as the plants glowed with a bright light once again, then snickered at Caramel's flopping over and playing dead.

She certainly seemed like a fun pony to be around.

 

She looked to Red and nodded. "Aye, we will sneak quietly around their 'sacred ground', and try to find out what they are guarding so badly. Perhaps we may find the cause of all this chaos."

 

She kept sneaking onward, as overdramatic as before.

Blizzard kept low to the ground. Like a slithering snake across the swamp, "Moving." he said simply as he continued to sneak along with Tyra. He knew they needed to keep quiet, and stay like plants in order to find their 'sacred grounds' and potentially, whatever they're hiding.

Our heroes moved slow and silent.They got quiet and slow,and with it plants thet glowed blu light stoped.It was like they could not detect our heroes anny more.Our heroes moved a litle bit,and frst thing they could see next to the all this plants,thos Djinn thet made them go back not so long ago where stil there.But archers lowered there wepons and got closer to rest of group,Djinn with axe droped them on ground and on with no wepons was siting on rock thet Tyra was on looking around,probably to see if our heroes would come back.

 

 

(Just to be clear you are stil far away from Djinn,you just see them.Plants are stil going south)

"Wait..." Caramel hissed, straightening as she stared at the group of Djinn in the distance. "Are they watching us through the plants? That's... creepy!" She muttered her prayer-curse again, then crouched again. "So, if that's true, we shouldn't have too much of a problem getting past them." This in mind, she carefully began to creep around the Djinn, keeping a good distance from them.

Blizzard continued to act like a plant in the best way he could. He wanted to avoid being spotted as well as make it to where they needed to get moving to, "Stay focused, stay alive Caramel. Just stay calm and focused, and you'll be fine ok?" he said in an attempt to comfort her.

Red nodded at Caramel. Seemed she wasn't entirely incapable. That was the conclusion she had come to, as well.

 

She smiled and nodded at Ice's words as well. She forced herself to relax, taking in a breath, and letting it out before continuing.

 

They were getting a little closer to the djinn now.

 

"Maybe we should wait here," she whispered, "and the djinn will leave."

Blizzard took note of Red's words, and stopped on a dime. He hid behind a rock, and opened his grandfather's book to read it for a moment, "I'm all for taking a momentary break. What about you guys? Staking out the target and waiting for them to move, is a classic Equestrian Military Strategy my grandpa used, so it should be useful here too."

"This is not natural," Tyra muttered, in response to Caramel's deduction, "whatever black magic this is, I do not like it."

 

She glanced down at herself once again, snarking internally that she looked almost like one of them.

 

...wait.

 

"I have just had a thought," she muttered to the others, as they all agreed to wait for a bit until the plants stopped stalking them, "Perhaps they will see us as one of their own? We certainly look similar to Djinn, do we not?"

Ticktock did understand Tyra "Great whickering stallions your right if you guys look like Djinn then they should let you straight through but that does bring up the question of how I can get in I look like a bush it would be to suspicious unless... who's up for carrying me?"
