I was chuckling so hard with my cousins when we were watching this on Christmas. None of them know I'm a brony. 

 

I liked how the whole time the Doctor was butting heads with Santa in a way that reminded me of Woody and Buzz only with the rustic fantastical and sci-fi axis switched. When you think about it, it's almost like the Doctor was a tad jealous to be competing with the original childhood icon and he's the adulthood icon.

 

"Look at you, beaming like you're Father Christmas."

I didn't see how any charector could come close to Rose Tyler after Bad-Wolf, but Clara has just been brilliant. There have been some minger episodes, including one where we just looked at each other, wondering how it could fail to add up so badly? But the ones that properly mess with you are great. Blink is on a different level and I really love that one. And the one on the Darlek asylum hospital planet, where he finally makes it into the room to get Clara......and you just know it's bad! "We have grown stronger in fear of you". That was an ice cube down the back of the neck moment!

I would be confused and a little disturbed if that were to happen. A referance is funny, a full product placement would be deeply concerning. Works on the same principle as My Little Pony and underwear; some things just shouldn't mix.

 

And there is nothing wrong with Clara. She is probably tied with Rose for my favourite companion, but I always tend to favour the most recent one.

There's nothing inherently wrong with Clara.

She was a great companion for Matt Smith's Doctor.

 

The problem I have with keeping her around is that she and Capaldi's Doctor have very poor chemistry.

It pains me to see the Doctor, arguably one of greatest minds in the universe, being treated like an unruly child.

 

I'm also not a fan of how Moffat turned the last season into The Clara Show.

 

Hopefully things will be better with Danny Pink dead.

May he rest in pieces.

I dont really notice any more or less chemistry. I did like the idea of Clara kind of becoming a "human doctor" in the episode flat-line. It shows to me that anyone can be "the doctor" It is more of an attitude and such. To me it speaks more to the fans kinda like saying you too can be the doctor. As far as her being a care taker to the doctor, I kind of like that in that the doctor could travel alone for hundreds of years and be back tomorrow and anyone gets a little off when they are on there own for a while. 

 

As for Danny yes agree I hope he stays dead I wasn't a big fan of his character. 

 

Side story I was hanging out with my friends at a restaurant and I paraphrased the doctor in the caretaker by saying "I can blend in with humans beings very well" and my one friend responded with "dude we love you don't ever change but you blend in with humans as well as a cheetah does with cows" So that kinda made me feel closer to the doctor.

I just watched a fair bit more than that, and I'm still not sure what to say? But I guess Santa was about to reveal her inner most thoughts/secrets. I'd say to try and watch it, but that's a heavy one to start with. Anyhoo, it's another mind controlled episode, and there have been a few, with maybe "turn left" with Catherine Tate being the best? (For me).
