Correct me if theres a forum I should

contribute to instead of adding another one.

But do you think starlight glimmer will

be redeemed in the series? Should she?

Do you also think we will find out more

about what caused her ambitions on

equality? Because I have a feel that

this is leading up to some new character

(mostly the new villain of the series, I highly doubt

starlights the main villain this season)

Also, is it weird that I ended up feeling sorry

for starlight near the end of the premiere?

after what twilight said about thinking about

her actions, I feel that starlight is going through

some moment in her life where she

undergoes a lot of confusion, something of

which I just got out ot.

Bill and Ted were Stallions

before it was cool

I don't really think she should be redeemed, but I do think she should return later this season and maybe they'll touch on her past more and explain some things about her that I was curious about while watching the episode.

This is something I've been curious about for a long time now. Starlight does believe in the Magic of Friendship, which means she originally lived a good childhood. But something, God only knows what, must have happened to her that so drastically changed her outlook on harmony. My first guess? Bullies. The following is a theory I have expanded upon since first founding it.

Starlight's power level was weak at first, compared to other fillies her age. It was because of this that the more macho colts thought it right to mock her and belittle her because of this power difference. How bad it got, I cannot say, but Starlight was left feeling inferior and rather insecure about her talent, so much so that she decided to reach Twilight-like levels of magic studying, in order to beef up her power. 5 seasons later, Starlight's power levels have increased, but obviously they are no match for the power levels of the Princess of Friendship, Miss Twilight Sparkle. As for her psychology, Starlight was convinced that her talents were the reason behind her being bullied, that her cutie mark was her downfall, and subsequently she developed a mindset that ponies with different talents were susceptible to conflict, but if they were equal, then there would be no conflict because there would be nothing to argue about, and thus equality was born!

Starlight would later go on to find the village, preach to the townsponies that cutie marks are the triggers that spark conflict among others, and if they turned to her brand of equality, then they would experience a life twice as good as the one they were living at the time. Once they were convinced, she then set about removing their cutie marks using the Staff of Sameness. One by one, the ponies cutie marks were removed, with only a little pain felt. However, some were unsure about Starlight's philosophies, prompting the latter to lock them up and indoctrinate them. Once they were sufficiently brainwashed, she removed their cutie marks and claimed the town as hers, stating that this would be the start of a truly harmonious Equestria.

Yeah I think she should be redeemed, I don't know why but I can totally see her as a protagonist in the future.

She has yet to understand what friendship really is, and she isn't completely evil.

Starlight Glimmer needs to really go through a lot in order to be redeemed, because she still genuinely believes in her ideology, no matter how wrong the Mane 6 proved it. They really need to hunt her down and flesh out her backstory before they can even think of doing it, but overall this could go either way. I'm neither for nor against it, as long as it's handled properly.

Yes, and yes, since I don't see her as evil, or power hungry, just VERY misguided.

She blindlingly believes her beliefs are good to the point of obsession. Those kind of thoughts are usually product of a dark past that I think we'll see someday

Not at all, as I stated above, she obviously went through hard times, making her the mare she is. No one should be pushed to that path, they are poor tortured souls
