To be honest even if one aborts the arc. I think the ship should carry over. It is something that makes the rp fun and could be a requirement for something big. Please look to pm for the details.

Plus if you abort the arc, the group won't learn about Chrysteel's fear of not being accepted as her true self.

I tried to keep Amber's uneasiness as vague as possible. Like, she isn't certain of anything, she just feels sort of muffled, like she's having an out-of-body experience.

@@bronislav84, regarding your most recent post...

I'm having a hard time responding to your post because I feel like none of us should be certain of anything yet. I know the DM told us that it was an illusion world, but I really don't think Lektra or anyone else would have figured it out already.

Besides, even when we leave this illusion, Sparky won't be there, so his absense shouldn't really be a hint at all. Sparky was kind of retconned out of the RP.

But yeah, I'm not sure how to respond. I don't want you to feel ignored, but I don't know what to do! ^^'

Would you...consider adjusting your post...? I think @Swinton would appreciate it, too.

Retconning Sparky out means I quit the RP, so I dunno where you got the idea Sparky was retconned out. He's just not a vocal or active companion, but he's there. Sorry, there's nothing to adjust. No Sparky, not real. Not hard to figure out. Lektra doesn't go anywhere without him, so for it to be forced on her means it was involuntary and therefore this is a fantasy.

I was under the impression he was retconned out. I guess that's up to @Swinton.

As for Chrysteel's reaction, She didn't have her carapace. Because of that she is uneasy. It doesn't feel right with her. Now if gm said she was wearing royal barding she wouldn't have been very worried. Sorry if the arc gets cut short because of Chrysteel.

 

To be honest, there are many things that could have been done and said to make this a bit more plossible. For one the characters coukd have had no memory of selves prior to the beginning of arc. Two could have said they didn't remember but had a feeling something was missing. Yea a minor clue. But just thrusting them into the situation with standered memories intact gave off that aura of unease.

 

Take Chrysteel's panic attack and Lektra's unease for not having Sparky as examples. For Chrysteel, the fact she wasn't her normal self and didn't have her carapace or something similar, caused her freak out.

 

For Lektra's unease and feelings of not real, Sparky was missing from her equation.

I wanted them to still retain their memory actually, but make it all weirdly hazy and stuff, we have to know each other. An illusion is useless if nobody believes it so I'm guessing they don't yet realize the gravity of their situation. They will soon. But the universe they are in is real.

 

 

Everybody is playing fine except for Lektra. I need to find a way to explain Sparky. Could he please, never come back? It really ruins the balance.

Okay, Swinton just said Sparky was in maintenance or something instead of his preferred "go e forever", so that means Lektra knew where he was this whole time, right? :s

So...Lektra is maybe hopefully a little less certain of the fact that this is an illusion?

I just think it'd be better if our characters figured it out gradually in a sort of team effort...

Yeah, but Sparky's "disappearance" didn't have anything to do with the situation of the new arc...it was just a retconned rule the GM set after testing the waters of the RP and figuring out what worked and what didn't. (Go back a few pages on this thread)

That means Sparky's disappearance shouldn't have really been reacted to in-story the way it was, right? Like Sallie's disappearance?

I just feel like we've "figured it out" without really deserving it. ^^' Just because the GM let slip what was going on. Realistically, our characters wouldn't catch on this quickly.

True but now they have and there's not much I can do except adapt to the situation. I did have an explanation as to why Sallie disappeared but I figured it would be too dark for this RP
