GrauWitz 1,010 May 28, 2015 Share May 28, 2015 Oh, I have quite a few! One day, I was playing Battlefield 3 and my Dad walked into my room. He then saw my "PONY" clantag on the scoreboard and said "Jesus, are you a brony?!" (yes, he knows what a Brony is and he plays Battlefield). I laughed it off, saying it was just a bit of fun. Still, pretty close though. A few months after that, my Dad and I were in London. We went to the comic book realm Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue. We went to have a look around, and I spotted a really nice Rainbow Dash plushy. I picked it up.... and I gave it a little hug. Then my Dad saw me hugging it and it was pretty awkward, to say the least XD. THEN soon after that, my mom saw my cute Luna wallpaper on my phone and said "That looks a bit girly, don't you think?". I just told her that it was just for laughs XD.

Attack of the Pwns 894 May 28, 2015 Share May 28, 2015 I've got one. OK, so, I went to the mall about 2 weeks ago to look at pony stuff and hopefully get something. Now, I can't buy something to take home because my parents don't know what a brony is, and I don't want to have to hide merch from them. So, I go in a toy store in the mall that has an eclectic combination of stuff for actual kids and stuff for older fans. I find some Rainbow Dash cherry soda, and decide to give it a try. I walk up to the counter to check out, and the old man working the counter gives me the least friendly death glare I've ever seen. He asks me, "So you buying this for a sibling?" I said, nope, I wanted to give it a try. His demeanor suddenly worsens, which I didn't see as possible, and by this time everyone in the store, including a million parents who are absolutely disgusted, are staring at me. I pay for my drink and walk out of the store sipping out of my can of pony soda rather loudly. Haters gonna hate 4 Signature by the ever-awesome Overdrive! Pinki Pie FTW! The Mint Pone 2,294 May 28, 2015 Share May 28, 2015 Go to Denver Comic Con (last year) wearing my t-shirt with my OC on it (I had for the last brony convention as almost a "name tag"). Go to table with Tony Fleecs and he says "hey you look a little familar, do i know you". Confused I say no, but we talk quite a bit. The next day it occurred that he was likely commenting on my shirt and my oc which he may have seen thru the music i've released, not my face which i thought he was talking about. Realized i missed a golden opportunity to chat about fan music and my part. **kick self for about 5 min** Did plan to meet up with 2 other coworkers that i was prepared to explain i was a brony, didn't run into either of them as cell phones did not work due to volume of people at one event. Almost relieved..... If i saw someone with your OC on there shirt i would assume it was you and fangirl all over the place XD
Sommar 1,289 May 28, 2015 Share May 28, 2015 I have another story! I have pony pictures saved on my iPhone. There were a few times when I opened up the app and my friends saw the pictures. They didn't say anything though which was a close call for me. I could care less if people see the pictures now.
Freewave 1,145 May 29, 2015 Share May 29, 2015 (edited) If i saw someone with your OC on there shirt i would assume it was you and fangirl all over the place XD Well thanks. I wear it to the local yearly bronycons so there's a chance to make more conversations and so it can work like a big name tag but it doesn't always turn out that way.... Most of the time i'm just as anonymous and as self-conscious as ever . Edited May 29, 2015 by Freewave 1 I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it.. Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM. Check out the 20+ Musician project Maressey which I am running. Check out the Brony Music Directory and FimMusic. A portal to all things Brony + Music.
Firedusk 37 May 30, 2015 Share May 30, 2015 (edited) Ugh... remember when I said that that was the only embarrassing moment I've had... yeah that's changed..."The only embarrassing time I've had" (quotes self) so my friend decided to be the jack of all trades in asshattery. I was discussing with someone not him, about Vinyl Scratch. Well he's a brony and out loud decides to say "I bet you 'wubbed' her all night." After promptly going red, I punched his arm. Stares were pointed in my direction. Some that knew what just happened laughed. Yeah I may or may not have glared at him the rest of the day I had the chance Edited May 30, 2015 by Firedusk
InsertUsernameHere 149 June 9, 2015 Author Share June 9, 2015 Had a new one. I'm sure everyone has had someone walk in on them watching MLP, right? But has it ever happened when you are home alone, and your sister returns from a trip in another state 15 days early, and walks in on you watching mlp? I'm not sure what she thought but I'm sure it was weird. She probably doesn't know exactly what a brony is though. OH and She knew it was netflix and I was watching it out of my own free will, not just happened to be on the TV when she walked in, and that made it that much worse. GrimGrizz 137 June 9, 2015 Share June 9, 2015 I'm not exactly in any closets anymore. But when I was still a closet brony, I think some of the most embarrassing things were 1.) Me silently freaking out over a MLP plushie at the store 2.) My dad almost finding a drawing of one of the characters I made
Ac3xAssasin 453 June 26, 2015 Share June 26, 2015 The closest thing to an "embarassing brony moment" I had was this past year in my AP Psychology class. I had just got back from missing a few days of class, and I needed to make up a test I had missed so my teacher sent me to the end of the hallway where there is a desk for making up tests, but before that she asked for my phone so I wouldn't cheat. I complied and began to hand my phone over when I accidentally pressed the home button causing my screen to light up revealing a Rarity background. I fumbled a bit but managed to turn the screen off I don't know if she ever noticed as she didn't say anything about it.
Randimaxis 8,652 June 26, 2015 Share June 26, 2015 I work as volunteer security at a large convention here in the south, and I recall one year when some other con-goers came to me & told me about a group of drunks in the lobby of the hotel I was stationed in that night. The drunks were yelling at & degrading people passing by in various costumes, including MLP cosplayers. I went to the spot the group of kids (teens) were lounging at. They were indeed drunk & were making foul-mouthed comments about passing cosplayers. I heard one of them say, "Ponies suck!", and that was a bit much for me. I walked up to them, pulled out the stuffed Fluttershy toy I keep in my pocket, held it out & said in my best Flutter voice, "Um, excuse me? But if you don't pack yourselves up & move on, my friend behind me here is going to have to confiscate your badges & let the nice officers in the main office breathalyze you all." At which point, I held up my badge with the other hand, making certain they could all see the big SECURITY letters on it. What I didn't know was two other security folks had walked up behind me & were providing support. The kids scowled at me, but said not word one as they gathered their things & left. When I turned around to walk back to my post, the other two security guys saw my Flutter & busted out laughing. A victory for ponykind, but they told everyone on staff & they all razzed me (good-naturedly) for the rest of the con about it. I still carry that Fluttershy doll - my 8 year old daughter loves it. *blush* ===== ( 0 ) ===== Fnord.
Honsou 399 June 26, 2015 Share June 26, 2015 How about your friend being a blatant smart ass, hooking up his phone to your car stereo, and blasting MLP music as you are coming through a gate at a military installation, and you nearly singing along...
Guest June 26, 2015 Share June 26, 2015 (edited) Oh you're all so silly, nobody is going to care if you like a girly show, everyone I know knows i'm a brony. I decided to come out by posting a mane 6 portrait on my wall, barely even a mention from anypony. I came out to my mom by having her fix my ripped derpy plush, she seemed a little weirded out but said she could see the appeal. skysweep 541 June 27, 2015 Share June 27, 2015 Im usually quite open, but there was this one time.... Im a horserider who also likes ponies. One fine day, I was coming back from a riding lesson when I decided to get some pony toys on the way back. No biggie, until I realised what manner of stuff was sitting in the bottom of my bag......it scared me already to realise what anyone might think if they took a look. So I did the best I could to cover up everything, shoving the toys into the bottom like it was going to explode, I was terrified for once of the riding crop handle sticking out, and just tried to act normal. Yes, I was taking the train home. It did not help that the police decided to pick that particular train to do a random search. People who looked suspicious getting inspected... I know I wasnt carrying anything illegal, but I would probably pass out if I had to empty the contents of my bag at the time. It was all good, and I left with the contents of my bag, and stomach and my pride intact.
