request 3D model request

I have 0 experience in creating 3D models or using 3D software, sadly, but I kind of need one, since I have something I wanted printed at Staples (if I can, hopefully, find one close enough that has 3D printing services). Anyway, I was wondering if someone who does have a better understanding of- and access to- 3D programs could make a model (and save in .stl file, I think?) of a character for me?

I'd really, truly, super sincerely appreciate it.

There are bases for 3D pony models. However, a custom 3D-model for printing takes a long time to create, it's not just something you throw together in an hour. I'm not saying that no one will help you, I'd gladly do if I had the time, but I doubt anyone is going to spend that much time on something they won't get anything for. It's just what I belive from my experience here, very hard requests tend to be ignored since no one wants to spend 5 hours on something they'll get a "thanks, I'll consider using it" for.

I suggest watching youtube tutorials about it, there are a lot of good ones that will teach you to do it yourself :) If you're not interested in doing so I suggest you to ask in a modelling forum of some sort instead, there are a lot talented people on those sites.

Do you mean 3D models as in video game model? if not can you explain to me what you mean

I believe he is asking for a 3D-model made for 3D-printing, probably STL.

I had an inkling that it wouldn't be an easy task for whoever decided to take it up- if anyone, and a near impossible request on my own behalf. I know next to nothing about 3D tech or the level of difficulty it requires, aside from the very brief and very few tutorials I tried to educate myself with.

I'm sorry that people won't help, unless they're getting something in return, though that does seem to be the way of the world, now that generosity is more or less on the endangered list. No one should have that kind of experience here, or anywhere else for that matter. (so much for applying the lessons that a certain element of Generosity goes through)

siiiiigh

thanks for the advice, though. I'm grateful, at least, for being able to get the time of day from anyone, given the request.

though, it pains me to admit, I guess I might as well ask a mod to go ahead and lock this thread, seeing as how I don't really have anything to give in return to someone who actually might have the time and technology on their hands, to tackle this request.

):

thanks again

No need for that :P I'm not saying that nobody will help you. I'm sure there are people who would help but I am just telling you this in advance so you don't sit and wait for nothing and get disappointed afterwards. People on MLP Forums are amazingly great at doing all kind of requests for free just to be kind but when the requests are of this size... I don't know. If you have any friends who may know something about 3D-modelling it'd be a great idea to ask them. :)

Just keep an eye on the thread, there might be someone who is bored enough to do it for you.
