What happened to Fluttershy's parents?

What happened to Fluttershy's parents? Did they just abandon her on land with no means of going back? Also, how did she survive.

I'd assume that after her landing on the ground in the cutie mark flashback, somepony flew down and brought her back up - but she later moved to the surface when she was a little older, on account of having liked it so much.

Oh, awesome! I've been thinking about that. I have a theory about the pegasi based on what I've observed in the show. There are no pegasi siblings. Most pegasi are only foals. This implies that pegasi breeding, frequently ends in either the death of the mother or the foal. This leaves lots of single stallions raising foals. The Pegasi are pretty much the "blue collar" class of ponies. So the single parent has to work to put hay in the trough.So they send their foals to "flight camp" or junior speedsters or whatever.

So if you happen to have a Rainbow Dash type of personality, if you go missing ponys might notice and ask where that,loud, obnoxious, awesome pony went?

 

Fluttershy, on the other hoof. Was so quiet and meek that nopony even noticed she was gone. Not even Dash, who only moments earlier, was racing to defend her honor, (granted she was totally pumped up after performing a sonic rainboom and winning! And about how awesome she is!!) Didn't even ask " hey, wasn't there some yellow filly with pink hair here? WTF, where did she go?".

So yeah, Fluttershy just disappeared from her home town, and nopony even noticed or cared to even investigate where she went. Not even her parent(s).

 

 

 

 

 

...or they always had a really close and loving relationship ( that we never saw on screen) until he was just recently killed in an unexplainable, deadly disaster that happened at the Cloudsdale snow factory a few weeks ago.

Apple's are presumably deceased. I think SOMEONE said that they were symbolized in a pair of shooting stars in one episode.

 

So we don't know the two pair of Pegasus parents... I'd love to see Fluttershy's family and learn about what made her into who she is.

I like to think that Fluttershy's parents are highly successful and boisterous pegasi in the weather business, the two of them owning a business in some area of pegasi culture involving the weather (Kind of like some sort of cloud construction business or whatnot).


Fluttershy is drastically different than the two of them (Her father being basically Brian blessed as a pony and Fluttershy's mother being incredibly loud mouthed and rowdy), so she tends to avoid them out of feeling that she's an embarrasment (Despite her parents not caring).

 

 

 

RD we have Rainbow blaze, though we don't know if he's ACTUALLY her father or not. I kind of like to think RD's mother died at a young age and was a royal guard or something, and that she was raised by blaze as a single parent.

At least we've seen him, unlike say...Fluttershy's parents. Who at this point may be even more the vanishing delicate flowers than their daughter is, for all the clues we've had about them.

(An episode in which it's revealed that Fluttershy is the outgoing extrovert of the family would be hilarious.)

Well safe to say there hasn't been any relatives of Fluttershy ever making an appearance. I feel there is a sad story to tell.

Fluttershy clearly got back to Cloudsdale after getting her cutie mark. We see a flashback of her with her cutie mark in flight school in Hurricane Fluttershy.

Personally I really hope we get an episode about Fluttershy's parents, it'd be interesting to say the least. Twilight, Pinkie, Rarity...we've seen their parents and I think it's safe to say we know there's a sad story for Applejack even if they never mention it on the show. Rainbow Dash's family is also a mystery, save for "Rainbow Blaze" who may or may not be her father (or older brother) I still like the theory of Firefly being her mother even though I know it won't happen in show. But of all the Mane Six Fluttershy's family is the one we know nothing about, not even any hints. I kind of like the idea of them being strict or not accepting Flutters' "strange" ways, it could make for a good episode. But right now your guess is as good as mine. I hope we'll see them in the future or at least get mention of them...if not, there's always fan fiction.
