So, has anyone ever taken the time to check out the show in different languages? It's kind of fun seeing that sometimes, some of the songs sound better than in English. At the same time, some places, like Canada, actually censored many things, like a good bit of the 'Party of One' dialogue during Pinkie's breakdown.

As a german, i know the german dub.

 

It's pathetic. The VAs sound mostly the same, even if they aren't and it really sounds like they did it to get a quick paycheck.

 

The media also missed the opportunity to make it more public. Instead, they put it on in the morning, in the middle of the week where only toddlers and pre schoolers can watch it.

 

So yeah, i stay with the english dub.

The Swedish version is so adorable and cute!

Also like the Japanese version of it (but they had to speed / slow down a cupple of frames to fit in the language in perfectly) and I used to have internet friends that actually live in Japan

I've watched a couple of the first season episodes of the Arabic version since I'm learning the language and I plan to watch them all when I understand it more.

 

The first 25 episodes aired on CN Arabic, but the final episode never aired there because CN didn't want to continue having the show for some reason. The entire first season was released on DVD. Now it's on ejunior which is some Emirates-based kids channel and they seem to respect the show more than CN Arabic did. There was some censorship apparently but I haven't seen it on the DVD I have. The word "magic" (سحر) has been replaced with "miracle" (عجيبة).

 

Rainbow Dash's voice is perfect, I love Fluttershy's even though it's different, and Rarity's is decent. Twilight and AJ's aren't the best but AJ's singing voice is great. Pinkie's voice changes all the time. Not just between singer to speaker but even from episode to episode.  :okiedokielokie: Spike sounds more like a monster instead of like a little boy like he does in English.

My favorite ones:

The Princesses in You'll Play Your Part, i.e. 1:15 onwards--I love them in it so much that to me it's better than the English one

Yeah so I love the Arabic version (especially Arabic Rainbow Dash). Definitely not as much as English, but I'm glad that some of the Arabic translation is online.  Just wished I could manage to get my hands on all the episodes.

I once tried to watch the Korean dub. But I noticed something strange. Sweetie Belle was voiced by a woman in her 40s. Can't Korea just use the original English version but with subtitles in Hangul.
