"you'd be surprised as to how many ways someone can attack." caliber said, "and i like to think that even though their centaurs, i would have no problem attacking them from the front. its really a simple act of side-stepping, and slashing. rinse wash repeat. and i doubt they have enough training to actually catch me. and who knows? maybe we can make a plan based on that."

he grinned. "and that can actually be a plan. i fight, slowly start to let them win, lure them into a false sense of victory, and the rest of y'all rush in, and we take them by surprise!"

"Aye, I agree," Tyra added, smirking as she brandished her axe, "Our best method is to lay waste to these intruders!"

She relaxed a little as Lunar began discussing another method of attack. Given how nice he's been to her since they met, and he had been a good voice of reason, she was willing to at least hear him out.

"Attack from the sides?" She repeated, tilting her head, "I am so used to running in head-on...are you certain it would work?"

"You are both not as strong as a centaur. If you try to sidestep Caliber, the one next to him will simply close in. They will surround you, and destroy you. They will also more than likely seee through such a tactic, it is not often a lone swordsman will attack alone.IF we attack from the sides, they will not expect it and be vulnerable.  It will also be easier to break their formation as a group and prevent a stampede, as well as lower moral of the enemy. From there we can work out way with the groups as they route and separate" Lunar explained in more detail," We could also rig traps. Rock falls and small dust clouds" Lunar pointed out at the craggy terrain, " We can take advantage also by using the land we stand on.

"you truly do underestimate ponies, huh?" caliber asked, maybe a bit quieter then he meant.

hell, he had fought with unfair odds before. he knows good techniques and strategies for dealing with overwhelming numbers.

he still lost, but he took out an unsettling amount.

"No Caliber, I simply value your life and feel your strategy may endanger your ability to live it" Lunar said, " Ponies are just as capable as anyone else. Do you know why wolves hunt in packs caliber ? Why they are so effective. Because they are strong individually, but when  all their abilities are thrown together, the pack is an unstoppable force that bears down on their prey. We must be the same. You will have your fight, but we need an opening advantage, and flanking them and breaking their formation will give us much needed advantage over a large force. It will likely invalidate what little training they have as well, when the formation breaks." Lunar said to Caliber calmly.

Tyra, upon hearing Lunar's analogy, gave a single nod in agreement. Wolves were indeed a formidable force in a pack, as well as alone.

"Aye, Lunar is correct," She added, looking to Caliber, "We are powerful on our own, but together we are unbeatable! We will have the best chance to take this centaur group by standing together."

She smirked to Lunar. "In our own pack of wolves!"

"You could ask his fighting style, or..." Izumo sighed, sounding exasperated, but now actually sounding much less nervous at her confidence. "Well, Rift is one of the best weapon ponies we have. He can use spears, swords, axes, hammers, whatever. He's not the best swordspony we have--Tsunami-sama is obviously better--but he's strong, and well-known. Also, the arena is a place nopony ever wants to be in the center of, unless they're very powerful. In the arena, it's one pony dead, or the other, with dozens of ponies watching." Izumo glanced at her. "I hope you have no problem in killing other ponies, because you'll almost certainly have to. I've only ever heard of one pony winning a fight in the arena and not killing the other, and he got mobbed afterward. Anyway, we're almost there." They were. The arena was a dome shaped structure, and several ponies were already trotting towards a great wood gate that formed the entrance.

"In our own pack of wolves!"

Strider smiled quietly at these words. They were simple, but inspiring, in Tyra's fashion. He put in suddenly after Red spoke, "I agree with Red. I think it's a good plan this way, and you still get a head-on fight," he added to Caliber, whose abilities he had no doubt of. He had read his adventure log after all.

Unseen by the new mare in the city was a pegasus, his coat was a light gray with a spiked white mane along with an extremely short tail. He had a leather harness wrapped around his torso holding many different small throwing weapons and on his back was a short single bladed Tanto. Half the Stallion's face was covered by a dark blue cloth that held tightly to his face and down his neck, on his right eye was an eye patch along with a deep scar suggesting his was blind in that eye.

The pegasus was sitting up in the wooden supports of the gate the mare walked through with a book in front of his face, those who knew him would know he was reading one of the books from the "too hot to trot" series.

He kept his gaze fixed on his book with a slight giggle as he read, the giggles suddenly stopped. "Izumo, perhaps you should go get a mop... and shovel." He said still reading his book.

I've been getting more into writing fanfics, mainly MLP since it has such a deep pool of creativity to pull from.

I'm good with character and story concepts, so if you need help with a fanfic or something feel free to Private message me

But don't be hurt if I have to decline if I'm tapped out for a bit. Otherwise I'm fairly good at it just sometimes I have to let my mind subconsciously think of some ideas.

"yes, actually, once. the wolves tried to prey on a manticore, and quickly ended up as dinner."

his eyes narrowed. "the manticore was aware of the tactics, had superior strength, speed, and size, and thus, was able to counter."

@,

Lunar frowned a bit at Caliber, " Your abilities may be great, but you severely underestimate out enemy and their training. They are likely different from the Centaurs of your day. In any case, stick to the plan, and watch their formations carefully, we don't need our swordsman getting surrounded. " Lunar said. The pony seemed to think highly of himself, but he was arrogant and his mind seemed to exaggerate things. He hoped he could be taught how a true warrior, a true swordsman, would approach a battle later. " And I have seen many times, the wolf pack take down a Chimera, and also a manticore. They simply attack it were it is weak while the stronger wolves act as a distraction. In the north you see wolves take on just about anything" he said, countering his point.

this guy was getting on his nerves.

but he merely puffed out his cheeks and looked the other way. "...fine. whatever."

he laid back down. "tell me when they get here." he said simply.

'tch! this guy doesn't think one guy could take the centaurs? i know for a fact zenru or cubus could. and who's to say i, myself, couldn't?' he thought as he was relaxing. 'fine, i might not be able to, but at the same time, im fairly sure i could. and its not until i actually try that ill see.'

for the third time, he reminded himself how much being in a group sucks. he was used to making the decisions, and suddenly needing the 'ok' from everyone to do anything was really messing with his basic personality. 'why'd i join this group again? oh yeah...tirek...'

"It would be wise to not ignore the advice of an elder," Tyra chimed in, shooting a look to Caliber, "His words are wise, and we should at least consider them."

She was beginning to see quite an arrogant side to this unicorn. She didn't know where all this cockiness was coming from, but she was certain that he could certainly not take on a group of trained, armoured centaurs on his own.

She respected him as a warrior, but his arrogance needed some work.

She decided to remove her cloak, revealing her winged helmet, leather tunic, and the harness holding her ancestral axe. She began dragging a hoof along the ground, like a bull preparing to charge, as she sneered toward the horizon with anticipation. She could not wait to get this battle started.

"Stop fighting, please," Red snapped abruptly. Tensions were running high and were beginning to wear on her nerves. It seemed more and more like she and Strider were the only two that didn't dislike somepony of the group. "We must consider the best ways to split us up. "Oh, go away, egghead--wait, Jiraiya came out with a new book!" Izumo gave a squee, then calmed himself. "Well, er, I'll check it out later. Anyway, go ahead--I'm not the one who'll be in charge of cleaning up, anyway." He grumbled quietly about how Kakashi wouldn't either, as Kakashi always got breaks, but then stopped. "Now, I've got more important things than you to take care of. Go find yourself a seat somewhere. From what I'm gathering, this is going to be a good show." He nodded at Amore and gestured her forward. They trotted into a back room. A gate led to the arena. Faintly, Rift could be seen in a room on the other end of the arena, staring across at Amore intently. He carried a huge sword in his mouth, along with  long blades attached to metal gauntlets. Heavy armor ornamented him.

"Right, policies," Izumo said dutifully, and showed Amore around the room. "You have a sword already, but we give out free weapons, armor, whatever to ponies. A word of advice. Don't attack the armor, it doesn't do much. There are holes in our armor here," Izumo gestured at his neck, "small holes on the side, back of the legs are open, and behind is open. Also, don't mention how much I'm helping you. Any armor here look interesting to you?" he asked. An announcer was beginning to spew hype about a new vampony mare fighting the long-lasting champion of the arena, Rift. He glanced out and whistled quietly. "Look, I gotta head. You get whatever armor you need on and call through the gate when you're ready. What is that bucker Kotetsu--" with that, Izumo was gone, leaving Amore in the armor room with only Rift's gaze as company.

The Pegasus that sat on the support of the gate closed his book for a second and shook his head with a scoff as Izumo disappeared into the arena. "Obviously I already had a seat but guess it isn't good enough for him." He muttered to himself right before he jumped down from the support.

Kakashi walked into the entrance of the arena only to see Izumo explaining everything to the mare. The Pegasus stuck to the shadows watching.

Once Izumo took his leave of the mare Kakashi followed after him holding his now open book in his wing in front of his face. Eventually Kakashi caught up to Izumo and nearly put his head on the stallion's shoulder. "Somepony have a crush Izumo? You're awfully kind to her to point out all the weak points on the armor." He prodded at Izumo still reading his book.

Monsieur Malum Fuhror

Elsewhere in the city, there sat a brown-coated earth pony stallion. A rather large, muscular one with a stylish blood-red mane and tail, fetching moustache decorating his upper lip. His flank sported the cutie mark of a painting pallet, symbolising a talent for painting. His heavy steel armour covered up the, to most, rather distasteful tattoo on his side, of a dead changeling with I HATE CHANGELINGS written beside it.

He was sat at a bench, face aloof as he doodled in a sketchbook, a pencil in his mouth. He wasn't sure where he was going with it yet; so far it was just a muscular earth pony standing majestically. It looked remarkably like him.

Funny.

Maybe I should add some Changelings, he thought, still sketching, Have a few of the little bastards with their heads taken off or something, non?

Amorè looked over the armors and picked out one that would suit her need. She also added her carapace fragments to clear the main weaknesses. She smiled when the colors matched up. She grin across. Her sword at the ready waiting for her into to the arena.

She thinks, 'Okay this should work. The enhanced shapeshift spell with the Doppelganger illusion and the enchantment bite. This will be a complicated spell to use but in this form Vamponies can still use magic. I hope this works.'

Amorè now stands ready to enter the arena.

When she is officially announced she steps into the arena she also grabbed one of the swords similar to hers. Her doppelganger will need it.

Once in position, she stabs the second sword into the arena floor and ready stances. She then awaits her opponent.

He sat down away from the group, and assumed his meditative position. He closed his eyes and let his mind drift in the void. Perhaps the spirits of this area had something to tell him. He was calm and relaxed.

Rift saw the mare walk out from the room across the arena floor and he clenched his large sword between his teeth scowling at the sight of the pest he was being put against. "What a waste of time..." He muttered as he departed the room, his armor clanking against itself with every step.

The large stallion's hooves made their way across the ground of the arena floor, the dirt of the floor was stained red with blood over the decades of fighting that happened down in the arena. So much blood in fact that at this point the dirt was nearly as hard as rock. Broken weapons and scattered pieces of armor littered the floor.

Rift finally reached his place adjacent of Amore still scowling at her intently, the bandits in the stands were cheering for Rift ready to watch him sever another pony's head. Rift wasn't one to waste time by cutting at his opponent with shallow swings, this stallion prided himself in making strong body severing cuts.

He drove his sword into the ground for a second and returned his gaze to Amore. "How about you just fall on that sword you dropped earlier pest... save us both some time." He snarled before picking his sword back up.
