There doesn't appear to be a thread dedicated to my favourite webcomic yet, which is blasphemous, so I decided to create it myself. If you haven't had the chance to check this out then I suggest you do so. Its probably the best thing on the internet right now. Please keep in mind that this thread might contain spoilers, so if you don't want anything spoiled then I suggest you try to avoid the thread. I do ask that people keep spoilers in a spoiler box if at all possible.

For those unfamiliar with Housepets, its a webcomic centered around the lives of several animals living in a suburban neighborhood called Babylon Gardens somewhere in the US (not specified exactly where). In the Housepets universe, most animals are sentient. Mammals with paws are fully anthropomorphized, able to speak and walk upright; mammals with hooves (and all other animals) are non-morphic, but retain the capacity for speech. Pets live twice their normal lifespan. Animals also enjoy certain rights (for example, a police dog can arrest humans, complete with a fictional legal precedent cited), but wild animals not kept as pets have no legal status. Most pets are regarded much like surrogate children, referring to their owners as "Mom" and "Dad" as well as adopting their surnames, and may be kept by humans who opt not to have children of their own.

The action of the comic revolves around the lives of the various pets living in Babylon Gardens, although many strips focus specifically upon Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly. Most strips adopt a "slice of life" approach, depicting pets dealing with common problems such as coping with boredom, visiting the vet, and interacting with other pets in the neighborhood.

It was only a matter of time before this thread was made. Surprised I didn't do it myself, but also glad, as you'd do a much better job at it. I haven't read it for a good 3 weeks or so, which is sin incarnate, so I'll go do that now.

Also, King is best character

I never heard of this comic before, but that looked super cute! I like how the dog with the sort of "Naruto" collar froze at the news. I'll have to look this up!

There's a lot of storyline involved, so I'd recommend starting from the beginning. If you decided to give it a read, I promise it'll blow you away with its humor, cuteness, and emotion.  :D

Thank you for the link. It's late now, but I plan to start reading tomorrow.

(I have the day off!)

So much this ^

Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Read several years worth of the comic in 3 days. Best thing on the internet since cat videos.

I've read far better webcomics than Housepets but it is a good read. Particularly if you like cute animals.

I actually made a webcomics topic a long time ago but it didn't quite take off. This may have been in there.

King is probably my favorite character, runner up being Tarot. King has the most complex story in the comic and he deals surprisingly well with being a pawn of the immortals.

And now it's time for you to wake up. ;)

OH SHIT M8

I have no idea why I like King so much. I guess I just... do.

I actually have a hard time reading things, because... stuff, so... yeah.

To me it's that he's probably the most real character in the comic. Out of all the characters he's used far less as comedy fuel and when it is there it adds to his character rather than feeling like a mere gag.

I ended up reading a few. I got up to the controversy Peanut caused with his drawing, and the related news he discovers about Grape.

This is getting good!

The political comic parody is my favorite strip, possibly of anything ever.

I despise you

Mister Grinch

I want to see you when you die

Your death will be as sweet to me

As sweet as cherry pie

Mister Grinch

I find it simply adorable how they refer to their humans as mom and dad! It only really hit me when Grape went to tell her mom and dad about how she chased away the racoons from the trash. Oh, and that was a rather effective way to put a stop to a revolution!

Best guest strip ever? Grif is really good at parody (even though this is a guest strip)

Pretty awesome guest strip. Got the personality on point.

..... I can't believe I forgot about checking in on this web comic periodically >.< It was one of those comics I remembered from a good while ago, but forgot... Just like another web comic a long time ago called "Furthia High". In fact, that web comic was how I found Housepets o3o And of the characters I adore, it HAS to be King and Peanut x3

If you have trouble keeping up with updates you could always use RSS. It's a simple way to keep track of anything that updates periodically from news articles to webcomics.

I use Feedly but there are others out there. Look up RSS readers and how to use them. Makes life simple for those who keep up with too many things at once. Like people who keep up with 130 webcomics. @_@

I wasn't having trouble keeping up with updates, really. It's just that I had closed the tab before and had kinda forgotten to open the page again... ^^; Thankfully, I only really missed a few pages, as the last one I remember seeing was actually just under a month ago, hahah. Kinda glad it usually updates three times a week :P

I used to keep up with the by bookmark or memory but that got tedious. I'd still recommend RSS so you don't have to keep tabs on it so closely. It's a great way to keep up with pretty much anything you want. Tumblr, Youtube, comics, you name it.

I bookmark the page I left off at. I delete the previous bookmarked page first. I've made it up to the first Christmas block of pages.

"Mailman piñata filled with four kinds of tripe"

...The gift that keeps on giving!

Well RSS will only keep you up to date on current updates so once you get done reading it think about it. It's so much more efficient than bookmarks.

I use feedly as well, but maybe not as much as I should. RSS feeds are pretty great for keeping track of webcomics though.

Don't I know it. Also Youtube. If you don't want to create an account to subscribe to people you can always use RSS to keep tabs on them.

Unfortunately there are some things that you can't find RSS for. Sometimes they're too old, other times the creator hasn't made one or doesn't know how.
