Where would the Mane Six fall on America's political spectrum?

So they decide to move to America, and for better or worse, they get wrapped up in politics.

Where would they go?

My thoughts:

Twilight- In the middle

Pinkie- Independent

Rainbow Dash- Independent

Applejack- Right

Rarity- Far left

Fluttershy- Left

I feel like they all would fall into the independent category of American politics, fighting for more government power but an actually non laughable means of checking the much more powerful singular authority.

I.e. much closer to Equestrian

Twilight - Independent

Applejack - Democrat

Rarity - Republican

Fluttershy - Too scary

Rainbow Dash - Fuck politics

Pinkie Pie - The fun party

It's hard to see them be involved in politics.  I mean in Ponyville all they have is a mayor, and they never really interact with her for political reasons (except for that one IDW comic with Applejack and mayor mare, but I don't know how canon those are to the TV show.)  If anything I'd say they are all unaffiliated.

Man, I don't know what I was thinking making Rainbow Dash a Republican. I completely forgot that the radicals are homophobes, and  she'd definitely be seen as a lesbian and ostracized for the rainbow colors alone.

Guess it's Independent for her then.

Being the first talking pony minority in the country, I think it'd be pretty hard for politics not to be involved with them.

Twilight- She'd probably be very politically involved, but also conservative, so I'd say Republican.

Pinkie- She'd probably choose Democratic. Grumpy, old, white men don't seem to be her thing.

Rainbow Dash- She wouldn't care that much, but would probably just throw in a Democratic ticket.

Applejack- Conservative. A(pple)solutely.

Rarity- I could see her being mixed. She would care more about the details of each candidate rather than the party.

Fluttershy- Democratic, because of global warming or recycling policies or something like that.

Since Twilight has actually shown some political authority, I think she would be the only one directly involved in politics.

Rainbow Dash works the equivalent of a public service so she'd likely be a registered blue collar democrat.

Rarity and Applejack are both business owners so they would likely favor small government sides.

Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie are harder to place. Fluttershy would probably be an environmentalist and Pinkie Pie would almost certainly be independent, her exact position changing with no set pattern.

Since politics is never actively discussed in the show, I just like think of them all sort of in-the-middle, pro equal rights, pro abortion, pro gay marriage, anti-gun, for better tax regulations. So really i'm just projecting my own political beliefs onto them at this point.

After some of the villains they've had to deal with in the show, I'd think they'd be the last to go anti-gun. That's almost like being anti-magic.

A better question to ask. (If I may be so bold) Would they go for democracy? I mean the they have lived with in some form of duel Monarchy their whole lives. And while politics aren't mentioned in show directly, the hierarchy  of things is implied. (another topic for another time maybe?...).

But to idenitfy each of them with a typical party? Its hard to say considering the type of environment they've grown up in

Applejack- libertarian with a few social conservative views on some issues. Applejack is not one for BS and would likely mistrust politicians and major authorities. The ideas of independence from an intrusive government as swell as limited government spending would probably appeal to Applejack.

Twilight Sparkle- independent with some liberal economic leanings and a bit in the middle with social issues.

Rainbow Dash- probably wouldn't care.

Pinkie Pie- probably also wouldn't care.

Rarity- a fairly middle of the road republican or possibly also a libertarian leaning centrist.

Fluttershy- democratic socialist, she has that hippie vibe to her and I could see her favoring strong action on environmental and certain economic issues.

The political spectrum dosen't just apply to democratic political systems but also more old fashioned ones like a monarchy for example or on the more extreme end dictatorships. Equestria most likely has some democratic aspects though likely making it a constitutional diarchy.
