"Oh? I didn't know you'd to be an expert on such things. Does every woman that walks out of your shower always pass such scrutiny?" she said in a bit of a sultry voice and a devilish grin. She kind of liked the attention. It's been a while since she'd had someone "inspect" her body after she was done showering. She waited for the inevitable blush and shuddering. She loved being such a tease. 

 

She then draped the towel over her neck. "At any rate though, I could've done better. You were well stocked on products, but I ran into an issue I'll need to address very soon, and that's that I couldn't read any of them. I'll need to learn this regions written language. And no better time to start than while I'm drying off. So, where's your library, and where do you keep the books on basic translation of... whatever language that we're speaking right now?

He blinked as a blushed formed on his face and he quickly looked off. "I assure you I don't usually have women gracing these halls. I rarely... actually never have visitors at all." he turned away and pointed with a hoof down the hall. "The doors are open you can't miss the library. You can just throw your towel down the shoot in the bathroom if you like. And as far as a good book to learn the written language I suggest..." he paused as his horn glowed for a moment. "the one laying on the piano." he said then turned to head to his room.

 

He had been flying in his dream for quite some time at this point when all of a sudden he just began to fall. A deep voice resonated through his dream at this point "Really? This was your plan? In order to escape the betrayal and hatred of the world you decided to come to a different one? You don't belong here. We both know you'll just end up making more enemies here and it will be just as bad as it was before except this time you have nothing to fall back on." The voice laughed deeply as Spikus kept falling into what appeared to be a mass of darkness. The darkness formed itself into a large serpent as Spikus landed into it's coils. "Go away I don't need you anymore! I stopped needing you long ago but you never left!" Spikus bellowed at the mass of shadow in the form of serpent. "You naive fool. You never stopped needing my assistance. Without me you never would have gotten as far as you did. Your anger kept feeding me until I got as large as you see now. Although didn't you used to be larger as well? Less of an equine and more of something resembling an ape if I remember correctly." The mass of shadow taunted Spikus with every word it spoke. Its coils getting tighter on Spikus every second. Almost as if it didn't want to let him go. "You act as if I don't know that. Even still your services are no longer required there is nothing you can help me with any longer." The creature let out a laugh as though it had heard the funniest joke in existence. "My-my is that how you treat your only friend." It's eyes narrowing as it's mouth curved into a twisted grin. "You were never my friend. You don't have friends. Your only purpose is to hate." Once again the creature chuckled. "Suit yourself or rather myself after all we're one in the same thing. I'll be here waiting for you when once again you can succeed at nothing and learn for certain that you're just as worthless here as you were in your old world" With these final words the creature began to dissipate back into the air from whence it came. "Stupid inner darkness always trying to f*** with my mind." The peaceful landscape this dream world had once been had been transformed into a nightmarish hellscape with Spikus at it's center. Though this didn't bother him. He was more concerned that what had once been a facade he developed to protect himself had developed thoughts of its own. He sighed and began to look around when a thought occurred to him. "Wait are all dreams in this new world lucid to this degree because I can tell I'm dreaming yet I'm unable to alter my own dream and that didn't used to happen for me..." He assumed it had to do with this world being much more magically inclined than his old one.

A large bright full moon appeared above him and a tall mare with a deep purple coat and hair flew down hovering in front of him. She had a long horn and big wings and a moon surrounded by a dark shadow spot on her flank. "Dreams. they are no different here than in any other mortal realm. you're simply more capable of understanding the difference. It seems this particular area is very sleepless tonight." she said looking around as images of Draco, Akane and Skyla appeared showing they weren't able to sleep. She looked back at him. "yet here you are. though you seem just as restless." she said motioning to an image of the great snake.

Skyla looked back at Draco, watching him pass by and exit from the hall. Then, she turned back to the pencil, and gave a bitter sigh. She wasn't going to enjoy this.

 

Biting pencils was a new experience, and for Skyla, not a particularly pleasant one. On her first attempt, she had underestimated her own strength in this new body, and consequently had bitten the pencil cleanly in half, snapping both parts off and filling her tongue full of splinters. She gagged heavily, coughing uncontrollably for a few seconds before pushing the chair aside and heading down the hall. She warily stepped off to the side of the mare she had heard been named Akane, not sure of her attitude at the moment (she seemed volatile at the best of times.), and entered the bathroom.

Akane smirked as Draco turned for his room. Success. She herself turned to head back downstairs to the library. She paused when she heard a fit of coughing coming from the room ahead of her. She heard small hoofsteps, the shoving open of the door and saw the small one sprint out of her room with her tongue hanging out. Akane stepped off to the side but the little filly was already giving her a wide birth, as she made a sharp turn towards the bathroom.

 

"Just what she needed. She gets a new body and something goes wrong just a few hours later. Maaaybe I should check on her." Akane slowly trotted over to the restroom door, listen in and waiting a Minuteman before she knocked. 

 

"Hey. You doing alright in there?"

Skyla looked back at Draco, watching him pass by and exit from the hall. Then, she turned back to the pencil, and gave a bitter sigh. She wasn't going to enjoy this.

The mare didn't looked confused at all however, in fact she nodded. "yes, I know all about you and your comrades Spikus." she said softly. "My name is Princess Luna. i am the princess of the night and one of the rulers of Equestria." she added. The scenery around them changed to a grassy hill under a big bright moon. they were surrounded by moon flowers all blooming big and beautiful in its light. She landed gracefully and stood facing him. "you do your best to push every pony away from you, when now is when you need friends the very most." she said calmly.

Draco blinked hearing the coughing and turned in time to see Skyla hurry past Akane and go into the bathroom. He frowned and walked over to Akane. "What happened?" he asked with concern. "Is she alright?" he looked from Akane to the closed door. "Are you alright Skyla?" he asked with more worry in his voice.

Once Skyla was in the bathroom she immediately ran off to the sink in order to wash off the splinters that had gotten stuck in her mouth. They came out slowly, little flecks of wood and tiny trails of blood lining the bottom of the sink as she washed, and were slightly painful, but she barely made a sound, just stared down darkly into the bowl while she worked.

 

She heard voices, and didn't take much more than a minute after the fact. She finished getting the last of the pieces out, turned the sink off, and exited the bathroom, slowly pushing open the bathroom door and looking up at Draco and Akane.

 

"I'm fine," she sighed, immediately looking down and away from them. She winced slightly; her mouth still stung from the splinters that had been in them just a minute before.

"Oh Skyla..." his horn glowed softly healing the damage done by the pencil. "You don't seem fine my dear. you seem very sad." he said. "Is there anything I can do?" he asked wanting to make her feel more at home and at ease.

"She seems more in pain than actually sad, dude. Granted the two aren't mutually exclusive, but still." She said as she looked down at the filly, whose grimace matched that of one with a tooth ache. A scent caught Akane's attention, coming from the bathroom. "Excuse me." She leapt clear over Skyla, landing clear on the otherside of the room... and skidding on the tile. "Oh shi-" *Thud* As she slipped and tumbled to her side. "Meant to do that!" She said as she scrambled back to her hooves. 

 

She turned her head to the origin of the aroma. She saw traces of blood in the sink. And splinters. "Dude, you have a first aid kit or somethin?"

However the comrades thing isn't really accurate as I don't even know their names let alone anything else." He turned his head away and his wings twitched again. "Where I'm from the only so-called 'friends' I ever had only kept me around because the wanted something from me or needed a scapegoat just in case. One can only truly rely on themselves in my experience. That's why I push others away. Not really any point keeping that from you seeing as you can probably read my mind anyways since you can enter dreams." He turned his head back to Luna with the final sentence. His wings continued to twitch as if to indicate he was uncomfortable.

"No, nothing's wrong," Skyla muttered as she shook her head slowly. Then, she paused, before looking back up at him. "It's just... i'm scared," she confessed. "All of this feels like a dream. Like if I fall asleep, or do something wrong, then i'll wake up, and you'll be gone, and i'll be back in the orphanage, or on the park bench again. And I don't want to go back there, but I keep messing up, and I don't know how to do anything here yet. I'm ruining everything."

 

She looked down sadly at the ground as tears built up in the corners of her eyes. "Please don't make me go back. Please."

He stood up off of the floor and stretched his cramped legs and wings. "Note to self: sleeping on the floor is just as uncomfortable here as it is where I'm from..." He opened the door and walked out into the hallway where everybody else seemed to be standing. "What did you plan a party without me." he said with a joking tone in his voice. He noticed that the smallest one was crying and stands almost motionless except for his twitching wings. Being the abrasive guy that he was he knew the best thing to do right now was to be as quite and motionless as possible lest he make the crying worse just from his mere presence. {Well s*** there goes that plan to just roam around... Why do I even care? I don't even know anything about her... I better not be feeling sorry for anyone! That always ends horribly!} So he just stands there watching and waiting.

You think that is considered messing up?" She walked out and stood before her. "Do you even remember how we met, or were introduced or whatever? I skipped off the top of a hill and plowed a trench into the earth about two dozen meters from where you were standing. Dont' even get me started on what I was doing before that. If you think biting your tongue or whatever you did is considered ruining everything, I'd love to hear what you would call everything I've done up till this point."

 

"Downplay it.  Use yourself as an example. The world, or this existence, or whatever, doesn't need another self deprecating, self conscious, confidence lacking child. I've heard it sucks to be one of those. Not that I'd know."

As soon as Draco had finished talking, Skyla did something she had been meaning to do since she had gotten here. She walked forward toward Draco and hugged him, holding onto him tightly for a few seconds. When she was finished, she took a short walk back, until she could eye both Draco and Akane again.

 

"I just don't want to mess things up anymore." she began. "It's all I did, back in the other world. The kids at the orphanage looked up to me, but I was always doing the wrong thing and getting them into trouble. Myself too." she added. She gave the two of them a determined expression. "I want to try hard, and I want to help as much as I can. I don't want to be that me anymore."

"She's right Skyla, you aren't messing anything up my dear, you're perfectly fine . every pony makes mistakes, something small like this shouldn't make you worry. Akane here was a world class trouble maker." he said teasing her gently. "but she's not ruining anything either. No pony here is any trouble."

"I don't think it's such a good idea for me to be here right now..." said Spikus as he grew increasingly uncomfortable from just standing there. His wings were twitching quickly increasing in rapidity as he grew more uncomfortable. "These kinds of situations I actively try to avoid. Makes everything much more pleasant when I'm not involved..."

"I don't think it's such a good idea for me to be here right now..." said Spikus as he grew increasingly uncomfortable from just standing there. His wings were twitching quickly increasing in rapidity as he grew more uncomfortable. "These kinds of situations I actively try to avoid. Makes everything much more pleasant when I'm not involved..."

Draco nodded. "If you wish to go elsewhere you may. i don't want you to be uncomfortable my friend. " He said kindly. "you go ahead and go do your own thing I won't stop you." he added before looking back over at Akane and Skyla to see if Skyla was calming down any.

Kid, not sure if you heard about it before you left earth, but before I parted ways with the human race,  I incited a full scale riot in my hometown, caused hundreds of millions of yen in property damage, at least! Totally punked the cops and SWAT, ruined the day of the press, roller bladed topless through the streets and burned down half the skyline.... actually that was mostly his fault, not mine." pointing the thumb of her wing over to Draco. 

 

"After all that, I have the luxury of being here. So I'm fairly you've got little to nothing to worry about. Hell, given this new opportunity and how short life can be, I encourage you to cause even more trouble.  Go out and experience what life has to offer and endure whatever scrapes and scratches you get along the way. Better to experience it all than to go around always asking yourself, wondering "what if?""

Skyla cocked her head to the side slightly at Akane's comment, then shook her head. She gave both her and Draco the smallest of smiles.

 

"Thanks; i'm not scared anymore. I mean, I was before, but i'm not now. Now, I just want to do my best here. I'll be the best..." she paused, panning her eyes up to look at her forehead. "Unicorn I can be!" she finished, looking back down as her smile returned slightly wider than before.

he nodded and gently patted her head smiling fondly. "You will be! I know it. you're a smart and very brave filly. i know you will do great things here!" he said happily.

Draco looked over at Akane and gave a teasing grin. "don't encourage her to be wreckless. I don't think i could handle two of you Akane." he said with a small grin before blushing and looking back at Skyla.

 

"Well it would be closer to three on the reckless part seeing as I jumped headfirst into the portal from the roof of a building, but really compared to causing that much damage my recklessness seems kind of tame..." Spikus interjected into the conversation even though it had basically no impact on what was happening at the moment. "Actually having wings kind of takes the fun out of doing stupid crap like that now that I think about it... Oh great now how am I going to entertain myself... Wait what were we talking about? I kind of go on tangents and forget what the primary topic is." he sat down with a confused look on his face as he said this.

"Her lacking confidence and being afraid of making mistakes and how it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things." Akane said while using the thumb of her wing to point back at Skyla. "Oh, you jumped head first off a building into another dimension too? "Meh I don't need to worry about sleep. I woke up just a few hours ago. I've managed to go 4 days without sleep. The "No sleep till Hammersmith 2000" tour I called it. Still not sure how Lemme and the boys pulled that tour off the first time around. And if you can sleep in a utility van on top of a BC Rich Warlock Lucky 8, then you can sleep anywhere. Wings or not."  

 

She then heard his question to Draco. "Good question. I thought I very briefly caught a glimpse of a settlement during my flyby. What's it called, how far away is it and are there any basic laws and/or customs we should know about before entering?"

He nodded adressing both Spikus and Akane at the same time. "yes. there is a town to on the north edge of the forest. it is called Ponyville." he answered. "The rules here are similar to your old rules. No thievery, harming others anything of the like. " He answered then thought and rubbed his chin with his hoof. "just basically don't be evil. " he said. "Be civil don't be rude for no reason and you'll do fine in ponyville." He said sitting down beside Skyla.
