Awilix closed her eyes and got ready for Aurai to cary her to the other side.

My squad was finally in perfect ambushing position. They had been briefed on what to do, and how to do it. They had proven they could manage it, and he was happy with the results. All he had to do, was get ready to disable what unicorns were in the party with a fear spell. He was rather proud of it, having found a way to replicate the Door of Fear in the castle at the Crystal Empire. It had taken quite a few attempts, and test subjects, considering how they would eventually go insane, making them useless for the experiment. However, he had rediscovered the spell lost with King Sombra's imprisonment; he could show ANYTHING their worst fear, and make them believe it's happening. All he had to do, was set it off at the right time... Directly on the entrance, then his army would attack them, while they were disabled. Kill most of them, preserve a few for testing. It was the perfect plan.

Helvard couldn't help but feel a little silly, having such a small pegasus try to carry him across the chasm. Slowly.

 

"The view is rather nice, thank you," He answered politely, smiling at up at him, "We are nearly there, do not give up now!"

 

He watched as the other side became closer and more in reach...

"... I'm bored..." The shadowy monster said, fiddling around with the brooch.

"WE KNOW!" The collective group of undead soldiers shouted back, annoyed at their master.

I had been saying it for awhile, waiting for the group to arrive, bored out of my wits.

"You know, I never intended to be here... I had a mare back home... She left me, and tried to kill me, but I HAD one. She was a lovely mare, with a violet coat... Her AND her five friends came together to attack me, after it was discovered who my parents were... I fled here, and now, I'm serving some Dark Lord in another dimension. Just DANDY, isn't it?" I ask, rhetorically.

"Just stop talking... It's distracting! They could be right by us, and we wouldn't be able to tell, because of your yammeri- ... Wait... Violet mare... Five friends... Enough power together to vanquish our master... Sir! You can't POSSIBLY mean you wer with an Elem-" The minon asks, petrified.

I blast of dark magic strikes him, and he melts, incapable of finishing his question.

"Well, now, that's enough of that, back to sentry duty!" I distractedly said. "Oh, would you look at that, a minion died; fix that, will you? We'll continue this conversation NEVER!"

Aurai took a deep breath before following crash's examt by picking up Awilix gently. Her paws weren't as strong as the hooves of ponies but her wings were bigger and more powerful compared to a pegasus. She flew to the other side with some trouble but managed to make it just in time. She put down Awilix next to Helvard before landing down herself with slight exhaustion.

Helvard gently touched down on the other side, and shook himself off once he was free.

"I am fine, thank you," He smiled down to the pegasus, "Do you require a rest? I am happy to carry you."

 

Aurai and Awilix followed not to long after, and he noticed the griffon's exhaustion.

"You may also get on my back and rest if you wish," he offered to her.

Suddenly a bat pony Alicorn appeared behind  Marion "For Oblivion sake Marion that's the 15th soldier this week... Ok I get why you get like that and you are my most trusted advisor and the closest thing I have to a friend but please stop dissolving all my troops I have to make them come back from the dead and then erase their memories so they will even look at you... Anyway how's the mission going, have they reached the Castle of the Two Sisters yet?"

"They haven't made it this far yet, Master..." I state, choosing to process the other statements when I have the proper mental flexibility.

I can't believe they haven't made it here, yet... This is ridiculous! The bridge shouldn't be TOO bad! It may look rickety, but it was able to support the weight of a score of undead minions! This is most suspicious... I think to myself, concerned.

He caught his breath "I'll be fine, lets just keep moving eh? Don't want to be caught off guard by something while we rest and what not..." he took another deep breath "As long as I don't have to carry anyone I should be fine..." he sighed as night approached. This "adventure" seemed to be never ending

Oblivion scratched his chin "Ok ambush them once they get across but let them gat away, then once they have no doubt retreated inside the castle any guard that comes out you mind control with the amulet but get them to act like they normally would then after they have the amulet (by which time you should have the entire castle under your control) jump them and take both the amulets."

 

With that the Alicorn merely evaporated.

She stumbled to the ground, landing near Arai with her face basically into the sand. Looks like I'm falling into Crash's his hoofssteps.

 

"Hey Arai, you ready for lift off?" She said with an embarrassed smile as she got back on 4 legs.

Watching Aurai land did not exactly instill confidence in Aria. With what she knew of Aurai, however, she did not show any misgivings. Aurai was the one who needed confidence, who needed support from others so that she could overcome her timidness. Indeed, Aria believed that Aurai, whatever her faults, had the potential to become a great leader. She only needed to hold nothing back.

 

With a warm smile of her own, she gave the griffon a slight bow. "Only if you are."

She flapped her wings, floating into the air and grabbed Arai with her paws, lifting her into the air, over the gap between the cliffs and then landed safely next to the others. "Here we are, safe and sound."

As Aurai landed with Aria ; Awilix looked at others "So what do we do now?" Awilix started "Do anny one remember were should we go from this point?" Awilix asked second question to the group as she forgot were they should be heading exactly after this point.

"I think we were suppose to be going that way..." Aurai pointed towards the gloomy castle ruins in the distance, her paws shaking. "Although I hope we don't have to go there..." She mumbled to herself. She shivered, the dark and cold were making her anxious. "Okay, lets just get this over with. I don't wanna hang around in these forest too long."

Helvard looked ahead, toward the ruins of the old castle, and nodded at Aurai's assumption.

"Aye, that would make sense," He agreed, and took a stomp forward, "I will lead, in case something ambushes us. Everypony stay together. From what I have heard in my travels, the Everfree Forest is not kind to visitors."

 

He walked on ahead toward the ruins.

Awilix smailed at Aurai as she gave her an answer and quaitly said to her self "The big ruin in back...how didnt I think of of thet." She looked at the ruins of castel in front of them and her smaile desapired from her face.She started moving behaind Helvard as she thinked will this be place were they will see the dark whats-his-name again.

Aurai walked after Helvard and Awilix with shaking paws and claws. I wish I had someone to hold at this moment... this forest is giving me the creeps... the darkness... the strange noises... the moonlight that is creating large shadows. I hope we will get out of this place safely.

"Does everypony got that?" I ask, urgent that those remaining understand their roles. It was always something that annoyed him; something assuming that they knew what to do, only for it to be discovered the hard way that they didn't. Especially when it's during something as important as an ambush/bottleneck scenario.

"This should be VERY straightforward; you all spring up, and prevent fliers. I don't like what you all did LAST time... You all are to then target any magic users; I don't want teleportation to be a factor; last time was just bothersome. Then, I want you all to strike hard, and fast; overwhelm them, so that they're forced to retreat into the castle... We have plans for that... Phase Two will be discussed after they've retreated inside..." I shudder, remembering just how they failed spectaularly last time, wondering why I even bother with undead soldiers.
