Caramel opened her eyes slowly while giving a big yawn. She looked around the cave to see if anyone was awake. It didn't seem like it. She looked at Rave who seemed to be sleeping peacefully. She smiled and stood up, wrapping her part of the blanket around him. She walked to the front of the cave, quietly so that she wouldn't wake up anyone.

 

There was still snow outside but the wind was finally gone. Caramel walked outside, sitting down on a rock so she could look at the sunrise.

Scarlett woke up suddenly to the feeling of the caves protective barrier being breached. She quickly got out of bed, left her suit on the side of her bed not putting it on and ran downstairs to the door. She silently opened it and went outside, where she saw Caramel sitting watching the sun rise. She crept out next to her, just loud enough to let her know she was there and sat down next to her, watching the sun rise.

Lordy was still awake... his head and hoofs leaned on his musket which he held like a stick for suppport. The momnet he saw Caramel wake up, and then Scarlett appear, he told himself;

 

"Night Duty over..."

 

He let go of his gun and fell of the box, face down in the snow, falling asleep instantly.

Caramel gave another yawn as Scarlett sat down beside her. "Goodmornin'' Caramel said with a smile, still looking at the sunrise. "Beautiful isn't it? So many colors in the sky and all because of that one wonderful thing, the sun. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Celestia, I still appreciate what she does everyday."

Scarlett's yawn is set of by Caramel and she smiles "Yea, it is beautiful. We didn't have any of this in the future though. Imagine a world where the sun would rise and set by itself, but you could never see it because the entirety of the pegasus race covered the entire sky with clouds because they were to scared to help anypony below..."

 

Scarlett realised what she had just said "Ignore that. Celestia does a good job, but I much prefer night time."

"The future? What is like Scarlett? Ye always talk about it I know but what about you? How did you experience this future that you speak off? and why did you come here? Why did ye travel to this time?" Caramel said with curiosity. "I mean, you don't have to answer that if you don't want to."

Scarlett sighed "I'd rather not, but let me sum it up. Imagine an explosion. Then imaging that explosion being powered by powerful magic. Then image that magic explosion being enchanted with many enchantments that make it even more dangerous and leave a long lasting effect. Then imagine the entirety of Equestria and beyond being completely destroyed by these explosions. That's not even half of how bad it was. And I didn't mean to get send back, it was one of these explosions, otherwise known as MegaSpells that somehow sent me back."

 

Scarlett stands up "Now if you don't mind, I think I'm going to go and make some cookies and milk. Want some?"

"Uh no milk for me... cookies are good though." Caramel said as she looked at the sunset again. I should not have asked...obviously a very private subject... Caramel gave a small sigh before getting back on her hoofs. She walked back to the cave after Scarlett.

"Eh, I can do that." Scarlett walks into her house (mujiks) and gets lots of cookies from the kitchen. She brings them out on a large plate and levitates them over to Caramel, and quickly levitates a couple of cookies off the plate for herself. "Take what you want"

The near-thunderous snoring from inside Lordy's large tent ceased as Tyra regained consciousness, laying back to front and in a rather strange shape on her sleeping bag. She groaned and wiped a sliver of drool from the corner of her mouth before standing up, adjusting the helmet on her head, and stepping over the sleeping Ace, and emerging outside.

She let out a long yawn and stretched out her limbs and joints, sighing with relief at the sound and sensation of the air bubbles between them popping.

She blinked as her nostrils flared from the smell of cookies, and followed it to find Caramel and Scarlett.

"Good morning, friends," she grunted, still half-asleep.

"Thanks Scarlett" Caramel said as she sat down with a bunch of cookies. At the same moment Tyra walked out of the tent. "Goodmorning to you as well my friend. Did you sleep well last night?" Caramel said as she looked at Tyra who seemed to be more asleep than awake.

Tyra, not a morning pony, simply blinked and gave a small nod.

"Aye, my sleep was rather pleasant," She muttered, trudging over to the two mares, "I have not slept in such a tent before, but I must admit it was rather nice. And how did you sleep?"

 

She looked around. "I thought I could smell those 'cookie' things you are quite fond of...I have a need for them also. If not, then some salmon or trout will do. Or even tuna. All three would be nice too."

A lab. That was what Wade could see. Potions and bottles lined the walls as far as the eye could see. He himself was working on a setup that looked particularly dangerous and unstable. The strangest thing, was that he could see colour. "Okay. Pour the contents from this vial into this tube, filter it out of any unwanted contamination and poof. My newest potion. Potion of The Bat. Grants a pony the Echo location ability of bats. Truly revolutionary. Eh? What's going on?" The potion started to bubble and become unstable, until it eventually exploded, sending Glass everywhere. Particularly into Wades eyes along with the fluid inside.

 

(Reality)

 

Wade awoke with a short, quiet shout before realising that he had woken up. "Blasted dreams. I don't want to remember that day. It was my own stupidity that caused it, stop reminding me of how stupid I was 15 years ago." He picked up the few things he had put to the side and put fresh bandages over his eyes. He then went to meet everyone. Quietly walking past those still asleep, he made his way to the entrance and sat down nowhere in particular. "Good morning everyone. Did you sleep well?"

Scarlett smiles again "Anyway, cookie?" she says while levitating the plate towards Wade.

"Good morning, friends," she yawned, blinking slowly, "I was told this was where to come for cookies...?"

"I wasn't asking you to talk about it, that was my weird way of asking if you're alright. So let me rephrase it, are you alright? I mean, I know you don't want to talk about it but if you ever do, I'm here. If you knew where I was from, you'd know I was good at keeping secrets."

"Believe me, I'm very positive that you have the capacity to keep secrets. I'm fine. Now please. Drop the subject. You never have concern yourself with my problems." Wade said these last two sentences with a much more stern tone and a much more angry demeanor. "I can handle it myself."

Scarlett levitated the plate of cookies over to Tyra "You know, I should just enchant this plate..."

 

Tyra simply slammed her face into the plate, taking a mouthful of cookies and crunching them.

"My thanks," she attempted to say through a full mouth. She was far too groggy to try right now.

She swallowed before asking, "Is all well, friend?"

Rave was dreaming himself: 

 

"You are a failure to the family, Rave. You have brought dishonor upon it. You use dark magic less and less and you have been helping other ponies, while ignoring the pleas from your brother, Scar. You know he needs your help in the battle against Celestia". "I have no more interests in those quarrels. My only wish is to be with Caramel, and nopony else". There was a pause then a disappointing laugh. "So naive". Rave was suddenly enveloped with darkness. 

 

Wakes up: 

 

Rave gets up, panting a bit, then he looks around him, trying to spot Caramel, since she is not next to him. He spots her and smiles. He gets up and starts to stretch.

She blinked and noticed how serious Wade was getting about...something. She hadn't listened in to the whole conversation.

She swallowed before asking, "Is all well, friend?"

"Yes all is well. Just a little misunderstanding is all. It has been resolved though. We really should be waking the others up soon and get moving. We're only wasting time by loitering about." He put the bandages on once more and put his hood back down. "Whenever you are ready."

Caramel looked up from her cookies as she hears a sound coming from Rave's direction. She saw him smile, causing her to smile back with a mouth full of cookies. She took some time to fully empty her mouth before being able to say something. "Goodmorning, Sleep well?"

Rave saw she was eating cookies and stifled a laugh as she smiled back to him. He found it rather cute. He then trotted towards her. "I slept really well. I usually don't sleep that long, I am more of a morning hen, wake up really early. But I guess.... sleeping next to the most wonderful mare in the mare changes that, makes it easier to sleep".
