Caramel gave a smile as Rave took a seat next to her. She was finally fully happy again now that he was here. She was already glad that she was out of prison of course but this made everything even better. She leaned against him as she looked out the window. The sound of a whistle was followed by the sound of the engines starting. She was finally leaving Canterlot after all those years.

Rave smiled. After all these years, he was back with the mare he had been waiting for all that time. They were finally leaving the place that he dreaded and off to another adventure. He was excited, but he kept on thinking mostly about Caramel. He couldn't imagine life without her.

With the train journey going smoothly, Wade had a few moments of peace to evaluate the situation at hand and the ponies he was travelling with. 'So we have Caramel. Leader of this bunch. Who has an unhealthy obsession over cookies. Seems to be capable and can handle herself well. Scarlett, just who in the world is she. No records of her exist and she has tech that is either restricted or not invented yet by our ministry. Clearly hiding something. Won't tell me possibly because of: A, my position in the government or B, a trust thing. Tyra, from a clan yo the north and she has incredible strength and it seems an obsession with hugging. Very Loud mouthed too. Not the brightest either. I believe the sleeping mare is called Violet. Nothing else on her beyond that. I think his name was Lordy. I need to introduce myself to him soon. And lastly, Rave. The outlaw, the criminal, has a nice price for his arrest. Something is strange about his magic. Further investigations are needed. Best course of action would be to just get along with everyone for now. I can focus in finding out Scarlett's secret once we have trust.' Wade rested his head down to try and catch a little sleep. The train ride still had a while left after all.

'I guess even my senses can be wrong every so often. I need to condition myself some more. Make my senses even more acute.' "Well everyone is here now. Get comfortable. The train will leave in a minute. It's been forever since I left this city. It'll be good to see other places again."

"Well, you technically wont be seeing it..." Scarlett abruptly stopped in case she was going overboard "But I understand what you mean. It'll be nice to get away from normal life, whatever that was to you."

 

She looks around, and then back to Wade "Though it may seem that I know all of them well, I was only with them for a day or two on out last adventure. They rescued me from a teleport that went too far, and I believe I broke the distance record in that respect."

Wade let out a low sigh at the first thing Scarlett said to him. That nearly crossed the line. Very nearly. Thought he might as well try to make conversation. Maybe it will build up her trust. "It will be nice to escape my normal life. I in no way hate gathering general information. But I much rather be out in mysterious places in which nothing is known about them and learning what no one else alive in the world knows. That is the epitome of being of a Scholar. Now, this is bugging me. Why in the name of Luna are you sitting on the ceiling. Of all places?"

Wade let out a low sigh at the first thing Scarlett said to him. That nearly crossed the line. Very nearly. Thought he might as well try to make conversation. Maybe it will build up her trust. "It will be nice to escape my normal life. I in no way hate gathering general information. But I much rather be out in mysterious places in which nothing is known about them and learning what no one else alive in the world knows. That is the epitome of being of a Scholar. Now, this is bugging me. Why in the name of Luna are you sitting on the ceiling. Of all places?"

Scarlett almost cringed at the tone of the sigh, she realised that she messed up. And moving to the answer of the question, "Why in the name of Luna are you not sitting on the ceiling. The walls are taken by the windows, the floor is boring and nopony is ever on the ceiling. The question isn't why, it's why not!"

Scarlett almost cringed at the tone of the sigh, she realised that she messed up. And moving to the answer of the question, "Why in the name of Luna are you not sitting on the ceiling. The walls are taken by the windows, the floor is boring and nopony is ever on the ceiling. The question isn't why, it's why not!"

Wade was quiet for a few seconds after Scarlett had said that. When you put the logic into perspective, it makes perfect sense really. "I have to say I don't have an argument for that one. Your logic is rather surprisingly solid. It's scary. But then you weigh in personal preference and I don't think I'll sit on a the ceiling anytime soon. I much prefer to stay in a nice solid chair."

 

Wade turned his attention towards what he was going to do for the rest of the trip. He pulled out several collapsed parts, about 4 in total and pieced them together to form his Crossbow. He went to work on it doing small bits of regular maintenance, repair and cleaning.

Rave watched Wade work on his crossbow, his red eyes following every move. After a while, he got bored and then looked at Caramel. "How long will this train trip take? I am thinking of checking around the train, see if there is anything I can buy and eat. I kinda missed breakfast, hehe" he said.

Rave thought it to be a bit funny that Scarlett had a lot of food on her. "What do you mean what I feel like? Are you a restaurant or something?" he laughed. "What do you have to offer? I can eat mostly anything, as long as if it there are no crystal berries from  the Crystal Empire" he chuckled.

"Yes, this is in fact a custom made Crossbow, designed and built by myself over 10 years ago. All the materials used to make this are of the highest quality, no expenses spared when building this. Everything from the grip to the firing mechanism has been crafted and designed to allow a maximum Rate of Fire, impact, weapon handling, distance travelled by individual bolts and the impact drop off over distance. Not a single factor was overlooked when making this. And this was all build by hoof. No magic was involved. And you can test it. Try and touch my Crossbow with magic. I guarantee that you cannot. Which is why I use these things." With a flick of his hooves, two Gauntletts made of a unique metal covered his hooves. "What is your Crossbow like?"

"Not quite as spectacular as yours, but still quite advanced. And as for your 'Magic-Proof' crossbow, can it protect from types of magic that don't exi--." She cut herself off. She had been doing that a lot, and realized it now. she was making it too obvious, so she stayed silent and waited for the obvious question."

Because of the lack of sleep last night, Caramel had fallen asleep as she was leaning against Rave's shoulder. The only responds she gave to his question was wrapping her hoofs around his arm while mumbling something vague about cookies. She gave a loud snoring sound as she hugged around him tight.

He then looked back at Scarlett. "Ehm, I am sorry, the talk of crossbows seems really interesting, I am just dying with asking so many questions" he yawned, indicating that he was not interested at all, not the slightest bit "however, weren't you offering something to eat?".

Tyra, growing bored of the ride, leaned her forehooves against the back of the chair before her, peeking over it to see Caramel. She pouted as she saw her sleeping.

Rave was busy too, talking with Wade and Scarlett. And Violet was still asleep too.

 

It was just her.

 

She began hopping on her chair, hoping somepony would take notice and distract her.

Scarlett laughs before righting her orientation and landing on the floor of the train carriage. "Yes Rave, I was. What do you want? Name anything you want that is popular, I probably have it."

 

She turns and faces Tyra "Do you want some food too? It'll be something to do."

Tyra suddenly stopped bouncing and locked eyes with Scarlett, taking in her comment. It was like she'd read her mind!

 

"Aye, I would be happy to get food!" She chirped, hopping to the ground with a wide grin, "I hope they have some salmon on board, or perhaps at least some mead!"

Tyra suddenly stopped bouncing and locked eyes with Scarlett, taking in her comment. It was like she'd read her mind!

 

"Aye, I would be happy to get food!" She chirped, hopping to the ground with a wide grin, "I hope they have some salmon on board, or perhaps at least some mead!"

As soon as Tyra's eyes locked onto hers Scarlett knew that she had said exactly the right thing. "I can get you some salmon later, but I don't think there'll be any on the train and I don't think we should be bringing any on."

 

She looks around and speaks up a little "And can anyone remember the place of where we're going?"

"Vanhoover." Caramel mumbled as she continued her snoaring. Her head was starting to feel heavy, so she shifted a bit so that she was laying down Rave's lap. She did this, while still sleeping, not really aware of what she was doing. Another loud snoar escaped, indicating she was falling deeper into her sleep.

Scarlett, almost completely creped out by the mumbling says to herself "Well, that was weird. Either Caramel always does that and I was never close enough to notice, or my ability to use magic while asleep is somehow affecting others. I don't want to end up like Luna..."

He blushed a bit and stroked her mane, smiling. He then looked back at Scarlett. "I am sure it was not your magic. Don't see what it should be your magic".

"You'd be surprised what my magic can do. I'm pretty sure the reason I have more magic power than other ponies is because my my subconscious also has magic. I have no idea what it does."

 

She pauses for a moment, closes her eyes and a small circular portal appears and some carrot juice comes through "This good?"

Tyra sat on the floor with a 'hmph', folding her forelegs and pouting.

"What does a pony have to do to get some fish in this region?" She grumbled.

 

She looked around the car, trying to think of her options as an alternative. "What else does this train stock then?"

"Oh believe me, my magic is not normal magic. From what I can work out, I have both high amounts of light and dark magic from your side, as well as a little bit of changeling magic from my mum's side, can't transform though which kinda sucks, and a bit of something else which I have yet to work out what it is. Also, I'm ranting."

 

She looks over to Caramel "I wonder who I got that from"

 

Scarlett turns to Tyra and does the same Portal thing and brings out a small amount of slamon on a plate "Eat it quick Tyra, I don't want anypony seeing this"
