So we 1 1/2 weeks into the Hiatus and im already going through Mlp withdrawal. Ive decided to watch some Fan animations, and am wondering which ones are the most well known, or even ones that arent as well known, but just as good.

Ones I know about:

-Snowdrop (watched, cried like my grandma died or something)

-Snowdrop 2 (up to date, very lich king-esque)

-Cupcakes (kinda worried I enjoyed it)

-Friendship is Witchcraft (currently watching)

-My little dashie (humans and ponies together, no thank you)

What others are there?

Do you mean any kind of animations or just the longer ones, inculind parody series? If the first statement is relevant I can suggest:

My personal favorite: Lullaby for a Princess

Fall of the Crystal Empire

Epic Wub Time: Musicians of Ponyville

Chip of Discord

Flufflepuff

Pony.mov series

Where are you?

Epic Rage Time The Incredible Derp

Muffins.pon

For anyone who wants to use this topic, there are a select few fan animations that are actually good. Which isnt a bad thing, this stuff is hard, especially without a big team and a lot of money.

My favorites in no particular order, let me say that again, these are NOT from best to worst:

•Snowdrop - emotional tearjerker with a lot of hidden meaning if your up to date on lore, Sisters lore especially (mlp lore amirite?). Above average animation.

•Children of the night - not much in the way of story, but a good song with the best flash animation for a fanmade piece, it looks just like the show.

•Lullaby for a princess. No new story, really just a rehash of the season 4 finale flashback. But it was still told much more emotionally, you could feel the strife. Along with excellent music and a different (and fantastic) hand drawn art style.

•Fall of the Crystal Empire. Great storyline with some cool ancient equestrian armor. Sombra felt badass, and the sisters were both in character, even after Luna's little "thing", which was a nice way to foreshadow Nightmare Moon. Again with above average animation for a fan work.

But ill still take suggestions on other fan pieces I should watch.

I know it has been said, but I have to say more.  "Lullaby for a Princess" was the most beautiful masterpiece that I have ever seen or heard.  I sobbed uncontrollably through the entire song and animation.  In my opinion, it is fan made perfection.  I've never had any media make me feel so much and be so compelling.  I love this work and cannot say enough about it.  If I wanted to nitpick a problem, assuming there is one, I don't think my heart would let me.  It is so moving.  Everypony should watch it, especially if you have a love for or interest in the royal sisters.

The pony.mov series is great(if a little freaky) and Fluffle puff is super Kawaii :pinkie:

Well, I wouldn't exactly count them as 'animations', but the Rainbow Dash Presents series is hilarious.

Also, I know everyone is saying it, but fluffle is best puff.  :squee:

Check out Jeff Rae on YouTube, formerly Jeff Burgess. You'll have to scroll down the page quite a ways to get to his animations (he does brony music now), but I thought they were pretty funny and deserved more support than they got.

Also, a couple of them were mentioned above, but I'm a big supporter of the "Epic _____ Time" series from Alligator Tub productions. They were a part of my introduction to the fandom, and I think everypony should watch them at some point.

Finally, if you're really looking for some silly laughs, I would highly recommend Lyra and Bon Bon in SFM #1-7. But be warned, those are "WAT" levels of random.

The Rainbow Dash Presents series was great (Bittersweet was probably the best one). Skip the My Little Dashie episode though - it was terrible.

The entire PONY.MOV series. You have to watch them in order, though. Also if you are squeamish or easily offended, don't watch this.

Smile HD. >: )

Lullabye for a Princess.

It's only short, but Taking The Hobbits to Isengard [sFM]. Yeah, it's dumb, I know, but it's adorable. Look at Twilight's happy walking.

You should also check out JanAnimation's channel, he has some good stuff there.

I liked Snowdrop because it was a good heartwarming story. The characters fit in the land of Equestria as well as the temperament of the story.

Of course not even MLP could portray this but it had good subtle narrative played out on what happened to Snowdrop.

It was good example of how to finish a piece of literature instead of a bunch of ponies just coming together and saying she died.

Well, I really enjoyed Lulluby for a princess. It fit right into the canon story, and was pretty emotional, and epic. Snowdrop was just striaght up the saddest video I've ever watched I think. I enjoyed it though, I mean the character was original, and the story was beautiful. I can actually say I cried at the end. I don't get emotional much, but damn. I can't even deal with that ending.
