Whatever 2 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 The only song I don't like too much is the intro, in fact I skip it sometimes- I don't really hate it or anything though. Oh, Celestia, I'd forgotten about that. I skip it every time. It's just too embarrassing....
Snow Shadow 41 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I love the music with one exception. From bitterness I arise. I shall thrive in the cool darkness of this moonlit winter's night. Oh how far I have arisen to meet you my friends.
Twi Rubix 726 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) During my first couple weeks with the show, I skipped over the songs because I know shows like this usually have terrible music and singing. But then I started to listen to the songs, and were really good. There still are some I don't care about too much, but most songs I do like, so most of the time, its not obnoxious. Agreed, which is why I usually only tend to skip it if someone else is watching the show with me.
Whatever 2 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Agreed, which is why I usually only tend to skip it if someone else is watching the show with me. Yeah, I always skip it when my parents are watching. My mom would probably be fine, since she's been converted and seen all the eps. But my dad is still in the process, so I need to be careful. And definitely with my brother, since he hasn't seen any.

Halfblood 364 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I must admit, some of Pinkie's short jingles kinda make me cringe, but I still love her other songs, especially "Smile". This is because Shannon Chan-Kent is an amazing and talented singer. Generally though, I do enjoy a vast majority of all the songs featured in the show. 2 If you wanna see, go on and tear it outta me!
Cloud-Chaser 49 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I just find Pinkie sings a lot for no reason and it does get on my nerves some times, but I later start to like the song anyways DƎЯPY
Squeaker 89 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) I for one am an avid lover of musical universes, so there will never be too much singing for me. However, if there was a song in every episode, I think I would get annoyed and bored because of the predictability. I prefer two kinds of song in MLP: special treat for a special occasion, and Pinkie Pie because Pinkie Pie. X3 I love the music with one exception. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKVNI9jeFK4 I think that was the point of this one here. XD A nonbrony friend watching this said 30 seconds in (asking about Pinkie Pie) "Is she on drugs?" LOL Hmm well maybe it's because I am a little still embarrassed to be watching the show. I guess I will try and look at it from a different perspective and swallow my doubts. The only song I used to HATE HATE HATE was the intro. But I got over it. Now I just don't give a flying feather. I sing it at school... at work... come to think of it, something seems odd here. JK Edited April 17, 2012 by Squeaker

Jimmy Bronymian 140 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 The opening theme is sort of annoying after awhile, but Winter Wrap Up and Flim Flam Brothers are amazing
FlutterDerpy582 89 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I actually love the music in this show. In fact, I was actually just commenting before good it was. I'll admit, at first I thought it would be pretty annoying throughout the show (laugh at the ghosties), but after I saw Winter Wrap up, I completely changed my mind. Yellow Diamond 7,569 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Personally, I've always loved the intro. The corny, child oriented theme belies the full depth of the show. Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te.
Pinkazoid 3,493 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Well everypony has a different opinion, I for one love all the songs, I don't see why someone wouldn't like them, unless of course they don't like the show, I don't think they're annoying, I like almost all of them and I've memorized them, but can you be a bit more specific on why you don't like them? I love the music with one exception. I sing that about twice a day loljk :
Mare in the Moon 173 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) When I first watched the show, I skipped the intro, and most of the songs. After a day, I started listening to all the songs, and going back and watching all the ones I missed. I have all the original songs+Several remixed versions of each on my MP3 player. Whenever I have my MP3 player on me, and there is a prolonged silent moment among my friends, I will sometimes crank up my volume and play the theme song. It somehow makes awkward silences a little less awkward. I really like Art of the Dress, Smile Smile Smile and Becoming Popular. Those are my 3 top favorites. I sometimes hum the theme song. Pony Joe 583 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I can understand being annoyed by Pinkie's songs (with "Smile" being the obvious exception) as well as the ones that are intentionally terrible ("We are the Cutie Mark Crusaders" and "You Gotta Share"), but the sheer quality of the rest of the bunch makes them some of the most enjoyable moments in the show. Have you heard the Season 2 songs yet? They're far better than the ones in the first season, IMO. That's really all there is to say on the matter. Guest April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I quite enjoy the songs, I don't think they are obnoxious at all. If they shoe-horned in a song every second of the show and they lost their quality maybe, but luckily there is no sign of this happening.
MasterCombine 316 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) I would have to disagree. And this is coming from a guy who can barely stand it when characters burst into song in other shows. The songs are quality enough and infrequent enough that they don't irritate me in the slightest. In fact, hearing Winter Wrap-Up for the first time was the moment I realized I loved this show. ponyvangelist 732 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 On A Lighter Note I normally can't stand when shows break into song. That's usually a cue to see what's in the fridge. This is the only show I can think of where that's not the case for me. Granted, when I first heard Giggle at the Ghostly, I rolled my eyes and started looking toward the fridge, but the fact that the other ponies hung a lampshade on it ("Tell me she's not..." "She is.") kept me from wandering off, and it actually is a pretty catchy song, especially in German: I especially like the way Pinkie's singer managed to make "laaaaa-chen" actually work at the end. The way songs are blended into the show is probably the best I've seen anywhere. They don't seem forced or shoehorned in like they do in most shows. Plus the songs are unusually good. Amazingly so, in fact, and performed by excellent singers with genuine talent. And for viewers who just can't stand songs, there's usually someone in the episode who speaks for them, like Scootaloo in The Cutie Mark Chronicles or Sheriff Silverstar and Chief Thunderhooves in Over a Barrel to commiserate with. So there's an out even for folks who might otherwise head for the fridge. The bottom line: When it comes to musical interludes in FiM, you gotta share. You gotta care.
cuteycindyhoney 13,307 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) I love the songs. The episodes featuring character songs tend to be my favorites. Giggle at the Ghosties is great in German. I hadn't heard that one before. Thanks Ponyvangelist! Edited April 17, 2012 by cuteycindyhoney Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
