Hey Every Pony!

My name is Vanessa or V for short and I thought I would introduce myself.

 

So, I've been a fan of MLP:FiM since 2013. However, I haven't been active about my love for the show primarily because of my family. I'm a grown 26 year old woman with a 2 year old son and every time I was caught watching the show my family would know it was me watching it and make all sort of comments about me having to grow up, to not let my son watch the show because he might turn out gay etc.

 

However, before I moved to Orlando, Florida my family got over their comments when I started ponifying everything that I could. For example my step mother would come over and watch a show called Once Upon A Time with me and I would often make comments like, "this scene would be better if Celestia was in it" etc.

 

Soon my family realized that I was a true fan of the show and saw how much my demeanor changed when watching it (I began watching it when I suffered from severe post partum depression) so they instead became very supportive and even began buying tons of Pony merch and art for me to decorate my place. They realized that the show helped me to get over my depression simply because the show made me smile with every episode and lift my spirits. The show helped to push the darkness away that I could not alone get rid of and helped me to get back to the person I used to be.

 

Since moving to Orlando, Florida I have yet to meet up with another Brony and to be honest I began to feel kind of lonely. I loved my Bronies in NJ as we were all a family there, but not finding another Brony here I feel alone. So while going through the forums on Everypony and MLP forums I signed up for an account to get some sense of that family back. But then I took it a step further and start my own meetup for Central Florida Bronies to see if I can find others like myself here and perhaps regain that family I had lost.

 

This is my first time on a fan forum and to be honest I love it. Ya'll crack me up and it's nice to share my interests with other who feel the exact same. 

 

I dunno if that was much of an introduction but it was worth a shot lolMy name is Vanessa or V for short and I thought I would introduce myself.

I do not personally know what kind of get together they have in Florida, however I recall seeing stuff like that posted on Equestria Daily occasionally. Have a convention list for 2015! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2015/02/convention-guide-for-2015-worldwide.html

 

I am touched by your story, it is a shame you have not found any bronies to befriend in Florida ... or at least not yet. I am sure that there are more around you than you realize. However! Until then I hope we, on the forums, may be enough for now.

 

Personally. I'd like more friends to chat and play with! Especially on steam. We can play some games together, talk about ponies, share some of that beautiful art and music the fandom has created. Oh it will be most glorious! I also have Skype though I am not particularly fond of it.
