8-bit MLP music on Fami tracker

Well, iv'e heard a lot of 8-bit versions of songs from MLP and also original work, and a while ago, my brother showed me a program called "Fami tracker" You make your own instruments and songs and is mostly 8-bit. I can do the creating music part, no problem, but the instruments are difficult. Does anyone know how or have pre-made ones? Or even have a better/different software idea?

Famitracker generally doesn't use instruments, you can make them up generally through just changing the Duty Cycle values around, along with volume and a few less used attributes. Except for DPCM instruments, which you need samples for in a certain NES format. These are generally only used as special drums though, a quick Google search or two found me a few good ones.

 

This also may turn out awkward if I'm wrong, but do you have an older brother named Max? You're a homestuck like this other guy is, and he's a Famitracker guru of sorts (along with his other friend I know elsewhere for tech forums), so I have a sneaking suspicion you're his brother If not, then excuse-moi.

Well, I use FL Studio. It has a very good arrangement of instruments and can be operated with a basic knowledge of piano playing and playing by ear. The only problem with it however is price. But once you get the hang of it, it's rather simple to use.
