Nightwish. One of the greatest musical groups ever formed. There are one of my favorite groups of all time and one of the reasons is because of how many masterpieces they have created. The amount of wonderful songs and albums under their belt is astonishing.

 

So what are some of your person favorite tracks and albums from the band?

 

Choosing favorite songs is so very tough, but a few of my favorites are:

1. Ghost Lost Score (This is my top pick)
   
2. Nemo
   
3. Romanticide
   

 

And my favorite album from them, if you have not already guessed, is Once. That album is just breathtaking. There is not a single song on that album that don't LOVE.

I'm gonna take the obvious route and pick Wishmaster (not the full album). Every time I hear someone mention Nightwish, that song pops up in my head. Whether or not it's the most remembered or iconic song by Nightwish, it's a darn good power metal song (at least, I think it fits the power metal genre...).

I'm gonna take the obvious route and pick Wishmaster (not the full album). Every time I hear someone mention Nightwish, that song pops up in my head. Whether or not it's the most remembered or iconic song by Nightwish, it's a darn good power metal song (at least, I think it fits the power metal genre...).

That song definitely has a very 'in your face' type of pace (rhyming without even knowing it) and I can see why that would be your favorite. It has a very intense vibe from start to finish.

Ahhh... Nightwish... One of the first metal bands, that I heard. It was in 2008 I guess. Of course the first song was Wishmaster like for the most of people but it's not my favorite song. For me the best song was, is and will be Sleeping Sun... oh my God! how much I love that song, there is something in ti what isn't in other songs.

She nailed that song for sure, this makes me think, another one of my favorites is Storytime as performed by Floor. She does that song so much better in my opinion.

Tarja Turunen is an amazing operatic singer, but her style always struck me as too proper. Floor puts more intensity and emotion into her singing, so she draws the listener in more. I have listened to After Forever and ReVamp, and I honestly do not enjoy them despite Floor's talent, but when her abilities meet Nightwish's themes and styles, that is when she really shines.
