Great bales of fire! Flaming manes and angry pony combustion.

Been wondering for some time now, but back in the Pinkie sense episode, we were shown through Twilight's extreme case of explosive energies and frustration the example of spontaneous pony combustion. Twilight's purple coat became a white/ cream color, and her hair turned to literal flames.

This is again seen in IDW's FiM comic #20, where Sunbutt becomes so enraged that she too has her mane flare up and ignite.

So what's the dealio? Is Spontaneous combustion a normal occurrence when a pony's maximum rage or frustration is unleashed? Does this only occur in Sunbutt's stronger students, due to their ties to her and, or the element of magic? Since this has only been seen in the case of Sunbutt and Twilight, could we assume that it's something to signify familial rite or relationship? Or something like a naturally occurring super sayain pony form, without the element/ tree of harmony's involvement?

Both Ponies shown are powerful magic users, and as we've seen, magic is only mostly under a Pony's conscious control. While this is just a cartoon thing, a Pony universe explanation may be that the extreme emotion (rage) leads to a build up of magical energy, and without an outlet it causes a brief outburst of intense flames.

but FiM is the land of going AGAINST the status quo

Unfortunately, i'm not so sure about this anymore.

BigMac pulls a house, Bulk Biceps himself and some other things. Also, don't forget the little filly, who lifted a hut with one single hoof. Come on, that's just silly lol
