Double Battles, right from start to finish? Much like how Pokemon Colluseum did? Would you want to play a main series Pokemon where you start off with not one, but two Pokemon, and each trainer, each Gym, and each member of the elite 4 have double battles? Do you think it'd go over well?

TBH, I've never been a fan of double battles, or any of the other kinds of battles introduced in later generations. So I'm happy that single battles are kept as the norm.

I'd like it if it's optional. I like doubles, but only because I love doing gimmicky stuff. Favorites include Shednja using mimic to get Entrainment and passing Wonder Guard onto an Air Balloon Plusle/Minun, and Sableye tricking a power herb to Xerneas so it can use Geomancy twice in two turns, and then Deoxys-S tricking a choice specs onto Xerneas so literally anything not named Scizor will die in a single Dazzling Gleam.

Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.

shenanigans! Having it optional neans coding two different games- one with single batle options for every trainer, the other coding double battles for everyon- on one cartridge

I would be up for this if the pace for it is sped up a bit. Double battles in the older games always seem to slow the battles down to a crawl and they were a bit tedious, but not too tedious as they weren't overly common. Maybe they could have two different version of a game, like they usually do, but have one of them be the double battle game and the other be a standard game.

I would be up for a complete double battles game, but I'm not sure it'd work as a main series game. There is a lot of mixed feelings about doubles so it'd be best to just have another spin-off with all doubles (I'd be down for another colosseum like game. Take my money now Nintendo.)

I know some could be iffy on a main game with doubles being mandatory, but I think it wouldn't hurt to change things up from the same formula that is 20 years old now. Why invent double battles, triple battles, etc. If all trainers in a new region don't require it in all battles (again. Colusseum), and it's only do-able inside a certain locations, in a building that offers battles of that sort, instead of though the whole game.

I doubt it. Doubles has always struck me as the sidebar kind of attraction while the 1v1 is the normal battle mode. I expect they'll probably keep that style mostly as far as the single player experience goes and leave doubles as a sporadic appearance in the game.

But hey, I'm pretty sure they've held official doubles tournaments, so you never know.

The two Gamecube titles were enough of that for me honestly, Game Freak themselves could probably make a game better balanced around double battles sure but I don't think the main focus will ever shift away from single battles. Besides, as good as the Gamecube titles actually are imo, I don't think I could take going through another game with wasting move slots on gimmicky double battle moves the whole, especially with there being so much more of them then there were back in Gen 3...
