Mature (Read: Older) Bronies

Reprise

Recommended Posts

We have at least one admin older than you, @Reprise. :muffins:

I'm 27. :v

IIRC, our oldest member is, like, 65? Though I'm not sure he's active on the forums presently. :u

I also moved this topic to a more appropriate forum. :muffins:

Bwahahahahahahahaaaaa! :)

I'm currently the oldest forum (and poniverse in general) staffer, though not the oldest member. There's about four of five active members like me in our late 40's. And there's one or two in the 50+ range.

Eee! It is awesome seeing so many of you pop up. It's definitely helping with me feeling more at home.

Thaaank you. I am still super newbie and tryin' to figure out where everything goes. I'll get the hang of it at some point, I promise.

@@Reprise, how'd you get into MLP?

I grew up around the first gen toys, so I was kind of a fan to begin with. When FiM first came out, I initially snubbed it because it was "different" visually. Friends luckily got me to look into it, and the rest is pony-adoring history.

Cool. My daughter liked it, and within a few weeks of watching the show, I became a super fan of it too. Took me from April until a few weeks ago to join this forum though, because I didn't want to go full brony.

Now I have tickets to the NYC Ponycon, so, there you go.

I really know that feeling. I've kind of held myself back for a while, especially since a lot of my energy has been going into a different fandom. I'm feeling really burned out on that though, after helping run conventions and fan sites, etc, but rarely coming away feeling like I'm even a part of the community. I decided to pop in this week, looking for a better fit.

I'm also seriously considering going to BABSCon here in the Bay.

What really pushed me finally was all the voice actors coming, and I would love to see them in person, because they're the life blood of the show, imo.

warning: biased actor is biased towards actors.

I'm pretty much just in it for the community. I'm really into music, so I have some little tiny aspirations of maybe getting into that scene.

Yus... Come to the BABS! Meet bunches of us!

I'm local to the area and already help run a different con in San Jose. It would be an easy hop to peek in. I'll probably have to!

Currently 34. Single, no children. Professionally I'm a media specialist after teaching secondary science (7th-12th grade) for the past 4 years; earned my M.Ed. last summer.

I'd be down for a meet-up at BABSCon.

Welcome! And yes, exactly, no one needs to ever fully grow up. I'm less grown up, yet I rock more maturity than some I know who are real sticks in the mud.

As long as you're happy, be yourself. The awesome life of marriage and kids is not for everypony. :P

* i'll be honest, as a teen, i was always fixated on the idea of marriage and kids. i mean, i ain't against it, but after my previous relationship being so.. hm, well, the most serious one i've ever experienced and them wanting so much from me, i realised how much i didn't want that kinda thing after all. i wanna live my life being and acting younger than i am, not a care in the world~

I'm also seriously considering going to BABSCon here in the Bay.

Just moved out of North Bay because oh my damn, expensive. I'm still dragging my happy butt out in April to visit the 'rents (is that still cool to say?), and the rest of the pony flock from the forums. Anyways, 30 and married, and still oddly perplexed by both.

Hello, Sans! Boring is a relative term. Besides, if you're enjoying it (and it's legal), why should you care if everyone else thinks it's lame?

Welcome!

I feel the same way. It just kind of happens, and boom, 30.  The younger ones don't understand, that it's like 21, yay, adult, 31...wahhhh...???

Not in my case; I didn't find my stride until I turned 31 a few years ago. My 20's were the full subscription versus a few issues.
