gaming Opinions on the new Starwars battlefront.

Yeah ok

Recommended Posts

I thought it looked look at first. when I played the beta I almost pre ordered it because it just reminded me of star wars. but then I realised that for a full priced game there is surprisingly little content. in my opinion its an ok game work not worth how much their charging for it. but the thing thay annoy s me most is on xbox one the servers seem to be unreliable or maybe I've just had some bad experiences.

Also people who forgive thw game for crashing on multiple occasions and the lack of content because its a star wars game that has nice sound anf music.

but the thing that angers me the most is the season pass. so first of all I'm not one for season passes I think its like pre orders paying for content that you haven't seen.

but the battlefront season pass costs almost if not more than the base game. and what do you get? only 3 new maps cloud city, jabba s palace and the death star. for £30-£50 I think its ridiculous that EA are charging this much for this little content. but they will get away with it again becaue we all know people are going to pay for the season pass despite how much of a rip off it is.

so there are my opinions on the game. reply what you think about star wars battlefront! if you thibk the season pass is a good think then please explain.

sorry if I came over a bit hostile for mean I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. this has gone on alot longer than I thought.

EDIT: I do not own battle front but jave played it on many occasions.

I am right there with you on the season pass thing. The game looks and sounds sooooooo amazingly, it feels like a legit Star Wars experience. The glaring lack of content though pretty much destroys any longevity and it is clear that the content was gutted for DLC for that stupid season pass and as such, the community for the game will then be split. I friggin' HATE season passes and it gets even worse for a game that is pretty much multiplayer only. It just seems like an obvious srew-up from a mile away but EA and Dice apparently were oblivious to it because they want the money.

For those reasons I have not purchased the game. I played the beta quite a bit and there are also balance problems to speak of as well. Still, playing the beta hurt because I knew this game was gutted for the season pass and I wanted this to be the ultimate Star Wars battle experience and it was so close, yet soooooooooo far.

It's worth getting cheap, because it's an excellent couch co-op game. Survival mode with two controllers is a blast, even if it has to drop down to 30 FPS.

That said, the multiplayer is full of frustrations, and relies far too heavily on a terrible powerup system that rewards blind luck over skill. Whether you prefer games like Call of Duty or Battlefield, those games rewarded players who actually knew how to play the damn thing. In the new Battlefront, it's all about being in the right place at the right time. The game just gives you shit at random regardless of how you play. And what's sad is that this is where almost all the game's content is.

Single player is neat, but the battles mode only has one game mode and four tiny, drab maps. You don't even get an extra map from the Jakku expansion. I don't understand why DICE didn't just let us play with bots on the good maps. That would have made the game a whole lot better. Instead, it's just yet another average multiplayer shooter with its incredible potential squandered. I don't even care about the lack of space battles or a Clone Wars era. I just wish the single player and co-op weren't so obviously gutted to force you to play online. That's my real disappointment.

I really hated this damn game so much. 90% of the content that was in the original battlefront games had been ripped out, for example, no proper single player modes, no space battles, no galactic conquest, no fucking shit!

And to top it all off the gameplay itself is just awfully dumbed down and completely brainless, you can't jump into vehicles, instead you have to pick up a token so that you can spawn in them. There's no strategy, no teamwork, no squads, and the spawns in the game is just awful, your constantly getting spawned into wide open areas where you can get easily spawn killed. This game makes Call Of Duty look like it has brains.

Honestly, this game would have been so much better if it were a Battlefield reskin in the first place, but instead, EA and DICE decided to make this game appeal more to the casual crowd, which really isn't the right demographic for this game.

Pretty much! I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but I felt this game had potential but when I first heard that player testers didn't think the game was going to possibly be done by release I knew it'd be rushed and gutted for DLC to be sold.

That factored with the incredibly featureless and buggy gameplay makes for a "SO DAMN CLOSE, but... NOPE" feeling.

I think the reason why a lot of people knock this game more than you'd think is because it had so much that it "almost" did right, but it stopped just short of it. It's a whole lot of teasing really. It's sort of like if I made this super nice cake and I brought it just inches from you to be able to taste it, but every time you got close I pulled it back and we just did that forever.

I don't play many modern video games anymore, but I thought the new Battlefront game looked great. I was considering buying a PS4 for it. I love how it only focused on the original trilogy, as I really did not like any of the prequels. I liked the side content we got as a result of the prequels, such as the clone wars cartoons (both of them), the great games based on them that came out for the original Xbox, interesting books, and some fantastic characters like General Grievous. It looks like a solid game that seems easy to get into. Unfortunately, it's expensive as hell. The total game costs over $100 with the Season Pass. I recently found out new details on the season pass thought. The expansion packs will include new Tatooine maps, the Deathstar and Bespin. I think that this is great, but not worth the $50. Maybe $30 would be more fitting instead. It sucks that Han's blaster, the DL-44, is overpowered. I think it should have been exclusive to Han Solo, but of course it won't be nerfed because it's the catalyst that got customers to pay the extra $10 to get the game with the weapon earlier. They won't hurt their cash cow now, will they?  :diamondtiara: I also disliked how the unlockable skins for the Empire were so limited. I thought the Rebels were pretty diverse, but C'mon developers, you have so many different types of Stormtroopers to work with.

The game itself certainly looks beautiful. I'd go out and say it's the most graphically impressive game ever made, unless you have a specific artsy-fartsy type of game in mind.

I really don't think that the game deserves all of the hate it gets with the exception of how overly expensive it is.

I LOVE the game. It is not worth $60 though. There is very little content, but what content is there is AWESOME! Defiantly worth buying if it goes on sale. I've heard they are planning on releasing some free DLC on top of the other DLC. There are even possibly working on an instant action game mode.

As for the people who hate it because there are things removed from the old games... THIS IS NOT A SEQUEL! It's even stretching it a little to call it a reboot. This is a new game and should be viewed as a new game. Dice tried to make this very clear from the beginning. I think they should have renamed it, that way people would view as it as a new game, instead of expecting everything from the old games. It is not as good as the old games, but it is still good.

I don't have the season pass. It was just too much money. The base game is awesome... if you can get it on sale like I did. Not quite worth $60, let alone another $50 for a season pass when we don't even know what types of DLC they will be making.

I'm pretty sure they announced what's going to be in the dlcs not ro long ago. in march they're adding jabbas palace in summer there adding bespin/cloud city and fall 2016 they're adding the death star.

3 maps for £40? not for me.

I've had a blast. Real nice blend of cinematic moments and FPS (or third person). Destroying absolutely everything that comes near you in the millenium falcon is definitely a highlight.

But I did get it for £25. :D

It's a cash grab game that turned out to be even more casual than Call of Duty.

RIP the Battlefront license.

I agree. The fact that people are defending it going "Oh it's a new game, it's not intended tot be like the old games" but it's lacking basic features that were there in the PS2 era that didn't cost anything extra. They now want more money for a game that has significantly less features and a reward system based solely on luck.

Basically this. The whole "it's not a sequel, it's a reboot!" argument is a load of bollocks, the current gen version of the game has significantly less content(and leaving out tons of features people loved about the BF2 like Galactic Conquest) than the game two Battlefronts before it, which was released two generations ago, that alone should tell you something. And that fact that they're charging double for the full experience when the game's not even worth half it's normal price is ridiculous(but par the course for EA). There's also the fact that they refuse include more content from TFA(aside from Jakku) despite them using the new movie's hype train for the game to ride on. And even if they decided to stick with the OG trilogy only, they could still use a ton more content from that than what they've currently have in the base game

Yes the game looks gorgeous and sounds amazing, but has history has proven time and time again, visuals and sounds don't make the game

It is a great game to play with friend as for alone maybe... it is actually playable now that the homing shot got nerfed... It still has its annoyances like being put against that guy who is too good, but almost every game is like that... Everyone constantly complains about the game being different than the other two, and sure I was expecting a Battlefield clone like the others especially since Dice was involved, but we got something original that may not be as good as the others, but its still a kick ass game... My only complaint about the game is the lack of variety of Stormtroopers... the only ones in the game are Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Snowtroopers, Magmatroopers, Shocktroopers, Shadowtroopers, Scouttroopers, and Tie Pilots... yes a lot of troopers but the first 4 only appear on specific maps, the Tie Pilot and Shocktrooper are power ups, and the Shadow, and Scout are unlockables at level 40... So until you reach level 40 you'll look like everyone else... I'd like the option to be any trooper on any map... so the Empire can have a bit more variety...
