Is Trixie Actually Homeless?

I've recently been watching through the seasons again, and have been talking with some friends when I noticed something about Trixie's personality. From the way Trixie talks about herself, and how she always tries to announce how she's "The most powerful unicorn in Equestria" I see this more as an attention grabbing tactic than an actual smite against the other ponies. Then it Dawned on me Trixie lived in her traveling cart. I got to thinking about it more and it occurred to me that she could actually be a homeless pony, and her motives behind her stories, and her "bragging" isn't to demoralize others, but just to gain some form of attention after being away from Civilization for so long in between journeys.

 

Has anypony else noticed this?

I'm mostly going off of her personality here. The over-exaggerated Stories, the bragging, it just seemed more to get attention than it was to actually talk about her magic. She could have just as easily performed all of her magics without any comments at all. It's just that she used her stories and her bragging to attract attention because she's more or less always alone, and from what we've seen, never has a friend to turn to. And by all means this is not an attack on her, I actually genuinely feel sorry for her.

 

And her living out of the trailer can easily be seen as well as someone who lives out of their car because they have no where else to go, and thus they move from city to city trying to get what attention they can to afford gas just so that they can have something warm to sleep in at night. I do hope that this isn't the case for her, but it's something I've noticed that's a possibility.

If she simply walked out on stage and performed her magic with no comments at all, then who would pay to see her perform? Trixie made her living by performing. That was her job. This is Equestria, all unicorns have magic. If she just walked out there and did her magic without commenting, then no one would be impressed.

 

She had to work the crowd. The purpose of the exaggerated stories and the bragging was to get attention. If she was just another unicorn with magic, then no one would care. She has to sell her act, so, to do so, she announces herself as the most powerful unicorn in Equestria. Now, all of a sudden, by this simple act of marketing, she has given ponies a reason to show up at her events.

 

As Shefira says, most likely, she has an actual home somewhere. I doubt that her permanent home is in the travelling caravan.

Perhaps, we don't know. We don't actually know how strong her magic really is. Se there's no way of knowing if she could make her own house or not.

That's exactly the point I'm making. People brag because people crave the attention they get from doing as such. The people who often brag the most, are the people who have low Self-Esteem and thus brag to try to make themselves better than everyone around them just so they get acknowledged. Which only supports more that she's homeless. That also further supports it because of the fact that she does brag a lot, makes her unliked. And leaves no pony wanting to be around her, thus completely abandoned, and with no pony to turn to for anything. I hope at the very least if trixie does come back to Ponyville in Season 3, that Twilight in her actually make up, because the more I think about Trixie, the more I realize just how in need of a friend that she really is.

I think that she started building up her shows to draw an audience, but then started to get an ego about it. She began to look down on her audience, actually thinking that she was better than them.

 

About her home, I actually do think that her caravan was her home. I don't know where she lived before, but the stage is her home now. And now it is a pile of rubble, stepped on by an Ursa Minor. I think she is homeless now.

Oh my God, I forgot how massive her house was. It's like a freaking palace. She must be the richest character in the show or something. I know it doesn't look big, but this show does follow the Dimensonal Transcendence Rule, which means buildings are much bigger on the inside than the outside (and no, this is not unique in cartoons; most shows follow this rule).

 

I don't think Trixie was homeless, but she might be now that her traveling cart was destroyed. But there's no way to know for certain.

Another question that just came to me; where does Pinkie live? I know she spends all of her time at Sugarcube Corner, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't live there with the Cakes. Somebody correct if I'm wrong.

Being a pegasus who can manipulate clouds at will, I'm pretty sure Dashie built her own house, and can change it whenever she feels like it. Her house does look different in different episodes, but hey, it is made of clouds, after all.

 

And rainbows. How did she make rainbows for her house? Well, she is Rainbow Dash, after all.

 

None of that answers the question of how the Daring Do books she borrowed from the Ponyville library don't fall through it. Maybe Twilight cast a spell on them.

 

In any case, compared to Trixie's former home, Rainbow lives in a castle. Heck, compared to any of the mane cast, Trixie is definitely lower-rent.
