Starlight and Twilight.

Does any pony else get the feeling that, just maybe, Twilight and Starlight share some sort of connection that will be relevant to the upcoming season? This thought has been flooding my mind recently..

Interesting idea, but I don't believe that they are directly connected.  I support the headcanon that Starlight is the descendant of Starswirl.

Starlight is, as far as I know, gonna be Twilight's student in friendship much like Twilight was to Celestia, so I think there already is a connection of some sort, but there probably is something deeper there. Too much mysteriousness with Starlight currently.

It really seems like they are alluding to something there; and I would have to add Sunset Shimmer to that as well. Keeping in mind their respective talents with magic as well as the raw power that we have seen and a reasonable case can be made that there is SOMETHING there.

 

I believe that Twilight Sparkle and Starlight Glimmer both have incredible talent when it comes to magic. (Although, that should go without saying). I think that they both, perhaps along with Trixie and Sunset Shimmer as well, have some sort connection when it comes to magic. 

 

I'm not exacly sure what could be done with that, but I just get the feeling that there is some sort of connection here. If that is true, I hope it is explored one day.

 

 

As much as I don't like saying this I really don't think Trixie can be added into the equation here. Her talent lies in illusion and showmanship; not so much raw power that Twilight, Sunset, and Starlight have demonstrated.

 

Doesn't mean that the Great and Powerful One is any less awesome. <3

Starlight Glimmer is going to is a contrived way of putting her in contact with Sunburst, that is going to mess with the Crystal Heart and their friendship may be relevant.

Hell, it may end up being a combined version of my interpretation and yours.

She is a powerful unicorn with a name that is a synonym for Twilight Sparkle.

I am pretty sure there is some sort of connection between the two.

Trixie is a fraud and her magic is weak. I love Trixie though.

Starlight seems more gifted in magic than Twilight does. Twilight had Celestia guiding her since she was young. Starlight was basically a loner (and cult leader)  and did it all on her own. She definitely needs help with the friendship thing, but it seems she could teach Twilight a thing or two about magic perhaps.

 

*Sigh* I wish she had a better backstory. She'd be much more compelling if it wasn't for her jealousy/loneliness/whatever over her friend's cutie mark.

They might. I still want to know where Starlight's incredible talent comes from, since Twilight is essentially magic incarnate. I also want to know why Twilight ascended while Starlight didn't, even though they both expanded upon a spell created by Star Swirl the Bearded.
