Copper thought to himself while everything was happening.  He didn't know what to do, but he knew something extremely bad will be happening down the road.  He spoke up.  "We don't have any other choice but to go through.  And we'll have no choice but to fight with what we have.  Every pony for themselves if there are beings on the other side of that door that fire on to us.

"Ah'm done waitin'," said Redwood as she approached the button. "Ah'm pressin' th' button and if ah die, oh well. If y'all ain't too keen on a little danger, ah'd suggest standin' back."

 

Redwood braced herself and pressed the button, ready for anything that going to come out.

The door opened as soon as the button was pressed, revealing a vaguely octagonal room with a door the right and left ends, The far side was covered by a grate through which a large electrical box and some pipes could be seen. There was no sign of anything out of the ordinary in this room. both of the other doors had similar buttons on them and there was a button on the other side of the door they had just opened.

Copper's shoulders slumped in disappointment.  To be honest, he wanted to have a little action here, but there was basically nothing here.  Was he and the others being trolled?  "Oh, come on.  There needs to be some form of action.  Nothing that's lethal or anything but at least something where I can have fun."

"If ah'm gonna be honest, ah expected somethin' more excitin' too. Although, ah might be able to get that grate off and we might find a way out," said Redwood.

 

She then trotted over to the grate and pulled on it with all of her considerable earth pony strength.

The voice watched through one of the few functional cameras. Why don't they just use the doors instead of trying to break their way through the facility?

The voice turned its attention to one of the few areas it still controlled, the cells. "The door is open, you can leave your cell if you want. I can't let you out of the facility until 079 is contained so if you want to leave you'll have to stop 079 first."

Pink watched as each pony either joined a small band or struck off on their own. She looked at one pony warily sideways as he wistfully wished for something lethal to happen. Deciding that powerful companions were better than powerful not-friends, she tailed the dragon, deciding to continue doing so for the forseeable future.

Copper looked on as the Earth Pony grabbed the gate and heaved with all his strength.  He sighed, then trotted over to the gate.  "Let me help you with that."  He then grabbed the gate and strained with all of his might pulling the gate out for the assembled group to go through.

The combined strength of the two earth ponies was enough to break the lock on the grate's maintenance door, revealing behind it the very same large electrical box and piping they could see through the grate. The door's hinges squeaked loudly as the door was swung open, possibly dangerous while also not providing them a means of escape.

 

The voice pondered, Maybe their universe isn't all that bright, that would certainly make a migration event easier. Who else wouldn't try the doors before trying to tear through a grate they could already see had no exit on the other side.

Gale rolled her eyes and headed for one of the doors. The last thing she wanted was to be in a small space where she could barely move. The button on the other side of the door they just came from would probably close the door again, which would probably be a good idea so as to keep anything from following them. The dragoness then pressed said button before walking towards the left door and pressing the button next to that one. As all of this happened, she noticed that she had a shadow following her around. "Feel free to talk whenever you want." She said, giving a slight smile.

Once Copper and the other pony tore down the gate, he smiled, then frowned when he saw the path.  There was no exit.  He growled in fury.  "All that work for NOTHING!" he shouted the last word, which echoed across the area.  Copper shoo his head in anger.  "There's no point in going any further, we're stuck here!"

"Alright, ah'll admit, that might not've been th' brightest thing to do," Redwood said to Copper. "Maybe we should just go through the door."

 

Before turning back to Gale and the door, she pulled of a section of the pipe. "Might come in handy in case there's any trouble."

 

Redwood then said to Gale, "Hold on, ah'm comin' with y'all."

She managed to remove a small section of the pipe, as she did so high pressure black gas blasted into her face, causing her to blink rapidly for the next few minutes as well as cough vigorously as she emerged.

The left door opened easily to reveal another octagonal room, this time the far and right sides had doors and the left wall was a large metal panel, perhaps it was a security door for larger cargo, regardless it did not have any visible means of opening it. The center of the room was covered with a black goo similar to the puddle in the office area. Copper had a bad feeling about this goo in particular. There was enough room to the sides that one could go around the goo, though it would take much longer to cross the room that way.

"If I could have stopped it I already would have. 079 seems keen on taking control and he doesn't seem to care if any of you survive, head down the hall and turn left then head through the door at the end of that hall." A card slid out from under a door at the end of the hall. "This Level one key card will get you in to the facility, but you'll be on your own until  can take control back from 079. You'll need to find how he's controlling the facility and stop him. I won't be able to help you outside this block, good luck."

Gale gave a slight frown at the fact that the room was the same as the one before and made a mental note to remember the path she chose to take. "Hopefully this doesn't get to out of hand." She thought. The dragoness then began to walk to the opposite side of the room, never taking her eyes off the black goo. The dragoness then attempted to open the far door.

Copper decided to follow the group headed to the exit of the door.  He shivered the moment he saw that goo.  "I don't like that goo."  He looked for options around the goo, until he saw the dragoness go through the far side, and he did so as well.  He then waited for the dragoness to open the door.

Redwood curiously poked and prodded the strange black goo with the section of pipe she had pulled off.

 

"What's this stuff?" she asked to nopony in particular.

 

It didn't seem do be dangerous, and Redwood then remembered that she had seen it before in the other hallway. Redwood didn't dwell to long and followed Gale and Copper.

Passing carefully around the goo they made it to the far side of the room without much difficulty. The goo Redwood touched with the pole seemed very sticky. The door opened to reveal a straight hallway that was lit just a bit better than the room they were in. There was another door at the end of the hall.

There was the sound of a door opening as the right door of the first T room moved to reveal the concrete statue.

"From my understanding of teleportation spells, I'd say you are too far away from your destination to reach it, being underground and in another dimension will do that. I have a way to send you back but you'll have to stop 079 for me to do it."

Copper was getting more disappointed by the minute, but then he realized that there was going to be something at the end of all this that they were going to have to fight.  "Guys, trust me when I say do not let your guard down at the end.  That's all I'm going to say for right now." He then walked down the hall.

Redwood continued down the dark hallway with caution. Even though the lighting was slightly better, it was still fairly dark, and the lack of visibility could pose a serious threat. When Redwood got to the door, she opened it slowly and cautiously.

The door opened to reveal a corner, to the left was the open door of an elevator, and to the right another door. The elevator was small, barely large enough to hold more than two ponies at a time.

The concrete statue moved until it met the line of sight of Shadow Beast. It froze, body pointed towards Pink Lemonade but head turned towards Shadow Beast.

Still exercising extreme caution, Redwood stepped into the elevator. For a moment though, her curiosity got the better of her and she pressed one of elevator's buttons.

 

'Shit,' Redwood thought to herself a moment after pressing the button. 'Stupid move.'

The doors closed as the elevator began to descend deeper within the facility. After a few moments the doors opened again to a strange maintenance area of sorts. In the distance she could hear sounds that sounded like speech. "Who's there?" could faintly be heard.
