!CLOSED!

https://mlpforums.com/topic/150254-the-chimeras-of-unova/

Daina Zine Laboratories was a leading frontier on Pokemon related research and development. After the Mewtwo/Dr. Fuji incident, the creation of new pokemon hasn't occurred for decades. Until private funding was offered from such creatures again. Billions of dollars, seven offers, each donation only asking for one product. This pressed the Owner of the company, Daina Heartlock to reconsider her stance, seeing as the amount of breakthroughs had been slowing down, and the once dreadnought of a company was taking its final bow. She wouldn't allow this. She founded this company on her love of knowledge, science and solutions, things that she knew she had not the intelligence or the patience to do herself. This was her family, and she was damned if she would let it go.

That's when project Chimera was born. From all offers substantial enough that had been made in the past five years, she accepted the task of creating one pokemon each that would fulfill the wishes of those whom made the offers. She gave her orders and the desired product descriptions to the think tanks and R&D departments for them to come up with what they needed to create.

Each of these organisms were made by mixing three Pokemon together. And each project had one scientist that would make sure everything went perfectly. And all were finished within eight years, all given a nine digit code of random letters and numbers. For one more year, the would monitor  the chimeras, making sure they were stable. However, on the fifth month during the monitoring process, a chimera with electrical qualities shut down the local power grid. However, this was no problem, it happened often, but the facility was built with a local, and private power grid, resistant to disruption. That day, however, was just, coincedentially, the worst day for Daina Zine Laboratories, for both grids failed, the private grid failing due to faulty maintenance methods.

All but one of the chimeras escaped, the last dying. Daina Zine fell, and not to debt. But rather, death. Five of the seven lead scientists ended up dead, over 90 percent of the other staff failed to make it out as well. The building locked down, a death trap filled with at least one hostile chimera.

Five days after Daina's empire collapsed, she passed from heartbreak.

You play one of the five remaining Chimera. The six will be played by yours truly. When you create your chimera, first figure out the three pokemon you'd like to mix. Have fun with it. When you mix the three, visualize it. Describe what it looks like. Heck, you can eventually draw it if that's your prerogative. They will be starting out at beginner level, so if any pokemon in your mix have or are evolved forms, then you will be using the first form, and they will be able to evolve in the future. No legendaries. Give them their nine character designation code.

Second, you need to figure out whome their leading scientist was, what happened to them, and who payed to have you made and why. All I ask is for the person who forked out the cash makes sense. No taking your scientist with you. I wont allow it.

After you do that, I suggest you calculate their stats. I use this site http://www.azurilland.com/tools/stat-calculator

They will be at level five, max ev stats, represented by the bar on the top of the chart, and neutral stat nature, represented by the = symbol listed on each stat. You will add up all the values for each pokemon in the mix for each stat, and divide the sum by three. You will round any decimals by the nearest whole number. Afterwards, you add five to starting health, and have an extra five points to spend freely on the other stats.

Afterwards, determine the chimera's three main types and their chimera type. Since many pokemon have more than one stat and I don't want any six type chimeras, you may only have three types for your chimera, one for each of the pokemon in the mix. This doesn't mean they cant have qualities associated with the other types that are in the pokemon in the mix, or that they cant use moves associated with those types, it will just tell me the primary three types of your chimera. Next is the chimera type, a fourth type they gain when reaching their max level. This type can be a type that you may have left out of the primary three from the pokemon in the mix, or a completely different stat. All however, this stat needs to be approved by me, because I need to make sure that it makes sense. (Like its acceptable to give a docile psychic, dragon and fairy type a flying chimera type, but I dont want to see a ground, water, and leaf type with an electricity chimera type.) They will have two types they are weak to, two they are resistant to, and one they are immune to.

Now, their move list. They will be given four moves. One from each Pokemon in the mix, and then a signature move unique to them. The moves chosen from the other pokemon must be moves that they could have known, naturally, by level five. No tm's, hm's, or bred in moves. The unique attack will gain potency as you level up. If may combine for up two two effects. It can damage, heighten or lower stats temporarily, have a higher critical hit ratio, never miss, give a status effect like poison or confusion, or have a special effect, or any combination of the two. Special effects require my approval. Hell, your whole chimera requires my approval. Since your chimera might have a mouth, might be able to close its jaws, and since this is a role play, I will allow them to do things they could naturally do without knowing the move, like lets say bite. However, if it does damage, it will only do the equivalent of tackle damage. Any moves they don,t know but can technically perform will only be able to do the most basic of effects. Due to the far above pokemon average intelligence of even the dullest chimera, your chimera will be able to know a maximum of twelve moves. Each two in game levels will be the equivalent eight regular pokemon levels, and you will learn one move every two levels. The eight and last move you learn will be two more signature moves.

After that, determine the abilities of your chimera. Just take one from each of the Pokemon in your mix, if two have the same, then you can choose one that makes sense.

Finally, work out the details of your chimera. What are the natural traits, defense mechanisms, anatomy and nature of your creature. What environment does it consider the most comfortable. What are its behaviors, and what is it capable of. Like said, they were made to be better than regular pokemon, and most can learn speech, and may already have from their creator, maybe even telepathically. They are intelligent.

Every ten xp will earn you a level. But don't think that things that are easy will give you any xp. If you guys have any ideas how we will calculate damage and stuff of the like, i'd like a good suggestion over than the crazy equation needed to determine damage in the actual pokemon game. Lets just say, it would take around ten minutes to calculate one attack. Tell me when you are making an attack, and I will determine the amount of damage it does using the equation.

With that said your goal is your own, however, to keep us all together, or at least searching for one another, at the moment the humans that paid for you are paying top dollar and spending great effort into finding and capturing you, for which reason you are unaware. Regular pokemon will definitely sense you are not natural, and react accordingly until you prove you aren't as wrong as you seem.

When you post in the role play describe your attempt to escape. Take the liberty to describe what you see, its a large facility.

Scientist: Dr. Jim Muteer: A man suffering from depression. He went into the job because he needed money. Being compassionate, he was disturbed by the experiments done on the Chimeras. He was one of the first to die upon being locked in the lab. However, he did not die by the acts of a Chimera; having nothing to live for, he hung himself in one of the abandoned labs. He treated Gladius well, to the point of developing a bizarre attachment to him.

Funder: A morally questionable but very wealthy businessman who liked to see Pokemon battle; not in the common way, but a brutal fight to the death. He wanted his own Pokemon that could hit hard and fast (hence the choice of Pokemon with high Speed, Attack and Special Attack), so that he could participate in the fights, and gain the respect of his friends with the same interests. After the lab shut down and a few documents were uncovered that stated the nature of his requests, the businessman denied everything to do with the whole Chimera experiment.

Personality/Capabilities: This Chimera is compassionate, a trait learned from his scientist. He does not want to interfere with the proceedings of humans, and simply wants to live a quiet life with Pokemon. He is still quite naive and trusting, something not helpful, considering the situation he will be in. His primary diet is composed of meat, with a few water plants. His preferred hiding place is in caves near the water. He is fascinated with humanoid Pokemon, and believes they hold the answers to his existence.

Gladius is intelligent (above-average human IQ), and can use human speech. He has very weak telepathic abilities (barely able to make a forcefield), which were put in as a cheat for if he were to be on the verge of losing in a Pokemon fight. Gladius is capable of swimming, since he is part Buizel.

Chimera Designation- SV8D9RA7I

Mixture- Ghastly/Aron/Seviper

Primary types- Ghost/Steel/Poison

Chimera Type- Dark

Weakness- Fairy, Psychic.

Resistance- Normal, Fighting.

Immune- Poison.

Moves- Spite, Harden, Bite.

Signature moves- Dead Silence- Mutes the enemy by suffocating them, doing continuous damage as long as the chimera focuses and keeps the target within its stare and disabling any moves that require the mouth or throat to use.

Stats- Health-29

Atk-17

Def-17

SpAtk-19

SpDef-14

Spd-15

Abilities- Sturdy, levitate, infiltrator.

Appearance- Slightly larger than a regular gastly, SV8D9RA71 is a spherical shaped chimera that floats through the air. It weights about fifty lbs, given its semi armored exteriors, clad in iron. Its body under the iron is a black liquid that somehow keeps form, but is nevertheless still toxic. One of its eyes takes on the serpent quality of seviper, with a violet pupil and dark grey for the rest of his eye, and his right eye has a glass lens, glowing red but fading to black on the exterior of the eye. His fangs and jaws are long and sharp, and retain the red dentin that covers sevipers fangs, but also are striated with iron. His tongue is lengthy and has a bladed end like that of sevipers tail. He is capable of not only hardening himself, solidifying himself and becoming completely intangible, but also can see into the fears of others and is capable of opening his maw the entire length of his body. He eats iron and flesh, but prefers the life essence to all other things. However he treats it like a delicacy, only consuming one ever so rarely.

Bio- The investor in such a monster was a psychic medium named Iroko Ikumane, whom stumbled upon great fortune using her talents to both earn and steal money. But she saved, invested, and even read minds to make it work for her. She did this to create a god killer. A creature that she could train to slay Yveltal, for the damned bird was not the creature that should be judging souls in death, she was who knew best, she could see the sins of others and the darkness in their hearts. And after this chimera was finished and met maximum potential, she could meet her destiny. Needless to say, she was a madwoman.

His leading creator, Dr. Maxwell Arostice was always wary of this creature. The benefactors description was cryptic, but mixing a pokemon specifically designed to kill and to not be able to be killed was quite... Morally grey. Or rather black. He did his job, and nothing else. Until it was born, and he felt for it. It was in pain, and he let himself become closer to it to understand and help it become perfect. It was like a child to him, and it needed to be perfect. However, all it wanted was his life. It deceived him, and the moment the lights went out, so did Maxwell's.

This chimera is primarily predatory and will do anything to sate its hunger, but also holds onto the souls it finds or takes, and learns from them. It isn't completely dispassionate, however it is young and has yet to learn the value of life, and the sacrifice one must make to keep its hunger sated. Hopefully it will learn before it takes any more lives. It feeds off of metal in order to supplement its diet, and finds flesh and blood to be purely delightful. Its preferred environment are caves and abandoned buildings. It admires fairy type pokemon.

Alright, let's see what I can do for a character sheet!

Designation code: A34G06G82
Nickname: Belle, meaning beautiful.

Components: Altaria, Goodra, Gardevoir*
*That is to say, the initial form will be based upon Swablu, Goomy, and Ralts.

Appearance:

b7583a1210.jpg

Lead scientist: Dr. Catherine Rozen, a former Pokemon Coordinator that gave up Contests later in life to pursue the passion she discovered for science. Drawn into the chimera projects at the prospect of so much money, she was uncertain at first. Then she was made an offer, from another Coordinator that wanted the most perfect, most beautiful Pokemon creation possible. And of course, she dove into the project after the realization that she could, indeed, help to make something beautiful from all of this.

The chimera that was born from this was indeed a gorgeous creature, and Catherine grew attached. It was a docile little thing, and seemed like it would grow up to be a fine specimen for Contests and the like. However, when the power grid failed and hell broke loose, the chimera fled and left the scientist behind, leaving her to the mercy of the chimeras lurking in the halls of the laboratory. She did not survive.

Statistics:
Health - 29
Attack - 15
Defense - 15
Sp. Attack - 16
Sp. Defense - 18
Speed - 15

Primary types: Dragon, Psychic, Flying
Chimera type: Fairy
Type weaknesses: Fighting, Ice
Type resistance: Dragon, Dark
Type immunity: Psychic

Standard moves: Bubble, Confusion, Sing
Signature move: Tbd

Abilities: Hydration, Synchronize, Natural Cure

Additional details: Belle considers herself to be female, and never really liked that the scientists often referred to her as an "it." She is a Pokemon of docile nature, though, and never made much of an attempt to start confrontations. Being an intelligent Psychic-type, telepathy is something that comes naturally to her; it's her preferred method of communication, and of course the only way she may communicate with humans. She's also highly empathetic, easily able to pick up on others' emotions seeing that Ralts, the "Feelings Pokemon," is part of her.

Her body is nearly boneless, making her capable of squeezing into impossible places and the like. She prefers places that are humid or damp; drier places are tolerable, but generally uncomfortable on her skin. And while she was created to be in the spotlight, Belle tends to shy away from the notion of showing off.

I've considered that, but honestly I don't know the answer. I might consider another Dragon type or something similar in the place of Dragonair.

His other looks like it is made out of ragged cloth with some buttons on it. Between his ears is a horn like, blue, structure, which resembles Karrablast's horn. On his chest, he has a shell-like structure which resembles Karrablast's. His cheeks are just two pieces of red fabric stitched onto his face. His eyes are red with narrowed pupils, like Banette's

You have my attention. Go ahead.

@@Colenso Rivers,

Alright, fixed up my post! The only thing I haven't added now is the special move for my chimera, if only because I'm not that creative with Pokemon moves lol. I'll come up with something before too long.

Can you draw my Chimera? Don't have to, it's just that your drawings are so smol and cute.

WIP so i can secure my spot

"Name" (Which he gave himself): Phantom Ray. Or just "Ray"

Designtaion code: R27E90P78

Mixture of: Pikachu, Excavalier and Banette

Gender: Male

Bio: A very welthy man, named Kento Suguragi, who wanted to create a perfect knight and bodyguard for him, someone who would be honorbound and would serve his every command. He was not very pleased with the final result and just began to train a normal Excavalier

His creator, a woman named Noto Kisirugi, wasn't the nicest of people......to say the least. She would do anything to meet the requests of the Investor, even resorting to brain washing and torture. She was eventually detained from

Ray is a really sweet Pokémon, who cracks out lots of jokes and is really sarcastic. Ray has a passion for fighting, and enjoys a friendly spare once in a while. Ray hates following orders and is generally a very stubborn Pokémon. Before Noto's "methods" he didn't give a damn about honor, however, as a side effect of the "methods", he began to care a little bit about honor, but only on a basic level (Waiting for a oponent to prepare himself, etc.). He is very curious about the world and the other species of Pokémon

Ray would do anything to exit that hell hole and finally stop suffering from Noto's "methods". Finally being free and being able to see the world and meet lots of Pokémon

Did miss Kisirugi die in their escape. If so, how so. If you want a Chimera to kill her, but not yours, then we can discuss which one.
