What's the liklihood of Sunset showing up in the movie?

I'd say it is very, very doubtful at this point. Honestly, I would be okay with this but ONLY if there are no references to Equestria Girls at all. Not even the dumb portal thingy. I know that would be a tad...difficult to do since Twilight knows her and all, but I really don't want EqG mingled into FiM.

she doesn't exist in FiM at this point in time, butshe would have, at some point, seeing as how pony Flash does, and has been shown twice now. She was born a pony, and exists as an imbalance in the human world, if "Reflections" is anything to go by. Pony magic wasn't supposed to exist in the human world, and crossovers never meant to happen, with two of the same person in one world.

Sunny can and should belong in the franchise, not only because she was born pony, but because in spite of Glimmer as Twilight's student, there's a lot more that Sunny could be, without filling that role.

While I enjoyed the EqG movies by their own merits. the concept of ponies becoming magical teenage highschool students in the present era is still a very absurd concept to me. I prefer for the movies to continue to go the way of the comics; having its universe built off of FIM but having itself not be canon in the universe of FIM.

 

As for the appearance of Flash Sentry in MLPFIM, because nothing about EqG was actually mentioned, Flash Sentry in the EqG and FIM universes are probably completely different ponies. I'm not necessarily against Sunset Shimmer to have even a major role, but, to me, the crucial thing would be that the context of who she was in EqG would not be mentioned, or that she would be a different character irrelevant to the EqG universe; she would have to be re-introduced in the context of FIM.

Depends. If it is to be the last showing of FIM, I hope they put everybody in there as a final goodbye.

 

However, if the show will go on, then I don't think it would be necessary, but cool nonetheless. I am quite the fan of Shimmy underneath this formal exterior.

100% sure she's not going to show up. They want EQG and FiM to stay separate Sunset is the face of the EQG series and it will stay that way until EQG finally ends. I'd say we'd might not even get Starlight in it (Even though I hope we do I like her a lot more than Sunset) the main cast will be the mane 6+Spike no need to confuse people that didn't watch EQG. I wouldn't be surprised if someone new to the series didn't know that EQG was a thing.

Not even once, not in the cartoon anyway, although she did appear briefly in one of the comics, which a somewhat separate canon again.  To all intents and purposes she doesn't exist in the FiM universe.  Which to my mind would make it pretty unlikely for her to appear in the film, at least not in any capacity more than a fan service cameo.

I agree, you know Sunset is my favourite HUMAN, human not pony and I use to hate her for that what she done in the first movie but then she changed.

My favorite mare will sadly not be in the movie. Neither will any older villains such as Chrysalis, Sombra, Adagio or Tirek. Everything will be new in the 2017 movie. Not against new things, but don't expect the older material to resurface. Hasbro and DHX  have sonic the hedgehog syndrome... Meaning making new characters... Chinese sweatshop factory style.
