Do you get duplicates of merch?

I'm not talking about variants (like Rainbow power Pinkie brushable vs cutie mark magic brushable. They look the same, but aren't exactly the same, and have gimmick designs that make them different). Merch that is exactly the same as what you might have already- do you see any point in having duplicates of a certain piece of pony merch, or is it a waste of money, even if you really like the character?

 

I'm tempted to buy another 13" Sunset Shimmer plush, even though i have one. Finding her at Target for $10, after searching for ages, in spite of my caving and getting my sister to buy her online some months ago, had me itching to get her (though i don't NEED her, and really should put greater effort into self control and smart spending....)

This is what happens when I started looking for MLP happy meal toys.

 

They're like, "we don't have that one, sorry bro" and the toy line ends and I get duplicates.

normally, I would agree, but in my defense, there's SO little official pony SS being made (and it's difficult for me to buy fan merch), I guess I just want as much pony of her that I can find, even if it's duplicate.

The only duplicates I have are the trading/collectible cards and that's it. Anything else, I see no reason to own two of the same exact product. For me personally, that just isn't practical, neither for money or space.

Not me, and I think is a waste of cash. Unless of course, you'd like to keep a spare of you favorite merch in case your first is damaged, other than that, no duplicates for me

I've only gotten one duplicate, but only because the set it was in came with two other figurines I wanted. I already have a blind bag Rainbow Dash, but the set also included Gilda and a Wonderful pony, both of which were blind bags I've been on the hunt for. I just gave the Rainbow Dash in it to my sister.

Never by choice. I blew a wad of cash on MLP dog tags trying to get a Rainbow Dash one. I ended up with like, 3 Tree Huggers until I gave up.

Eh, I don't currently. I didn't even keep the duplicate dog tags I got. I "donated" them. The only time I would bother buying an extra of something is if the one I have already is damaged, or it's extremely limited edition, and even then, I probably wouldn't bother unless it was something I was afraid of getting damaged.

Only when I end up with duplicate blindbags and trading cards and such. I generally don't specifically get duplicate toys. Variants, sure,  but not exact duplicates.

I don't buy them on purpose unless I'm buying one for a friend or something, but if I get a blind bag(Dog tags, trading cards, etc.) and get a duplicate I'll either donate it or give it to a friend.

Not too often. The only time I get duplicates if it's a lot on eBay or something. I got 5 of the same Fluttershy's  once. But that's only because it was actually cheaper to buy them than an individual one...Plus it was merch that I've never seen before and since has been hard to find.
