Konami rolls out there latest Pachinko machine, themed after Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. 

 

Cue the obligatory #FuckKonami

 

For those of you who aren't in the know about Konami; They have been on an active campaign to burn bridges with all of the gaming community and the people who made their company what it is and instead want to use their Popular IP's like Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid in Pachinko Machines instead. 

 

 

There's an example of Pachinko machines...aren't they lovely. 

 

So what are your thoughts on this?

Arent this Pachinko Machines just a trick to get Peoples Money, like most luck based games?

 

So, i would never play a Pachinko Machine anyway.

I wouldnt say f*** Konami, since they made a lot of Games that i like, so...maybe instead of saying f*** Konami, we maybe just say something against the People, who made the bad decisions, instead of insulting the entire Company.

 

I dont think this Pachinko Machines Adaptations are that bad, they are not there as an replacement for a Main Game, they are just harmless Spinoffs in my Opinion.

Even though, turning Silent Hill 2 into a pachinko...arent you supposed to get scared from a horror Game? How does that even work?

 

But with many Topics and Situations, i dont know that much anyway, so i better shut up now. XD

I think if Konami wants to burn the bridge that got then the cash in the first place, good. I'd rather get crappy companies out of the industry with no means of getting back in. As much as I like Silent Hill and some of their games, I'd rather they drop out of the race and leave no way to come back if they are not going to consider their fans.

The sad thing is, these Pachinko's are making Konami so much money for minimal development costs, I'd be surprised if we don't see far more of them in the future. Just wait for them to revive all of their sitting franchises (Castlevania, Silent Hill, whatever.), make a Pachinko out of it, and watch the money pour in. They don't have to do anything else.

 

Sure, Western audiences will rip them a new one, but I think they've made it pretty clear how much they care about that. The Japanese arcade market is still as strong as ever, and that's decidedly where they've wanted to focus on for now.

 

Just wish they wouldn't tease us by showing Snake Eater remade in the FOX Engine.

I would have applaud this move if profit were the only thing I cared about, but I'm not Konami, so I'm not applauding this.

 

To be honest, I'm not really surprised by this, as I feel it was only a matter of time before this happens. Still, as a Metal Gear fan, it hurts to see this actually happening before my eyes.

I knew this was gonna happen! I called it! Damn it. Konami has made it clear that they don't care about gaming anymore, so this is pretty typical of them now. I am basically not expecting anything good form them anymore. Best to come to terms with that now.
