One or more of the Mane Six are Changelings. Who do you trust?

Chrysalis has put a hit out on you. Because of this, at least one of the Mane Six has gone missing, and been replaced by a Changeling. This has been in planning for months, and the Changelings have learned to imitate the ponies so well, you're not able to prove it. 

But you still need to confide in one of them in order to run some tests and determine which ponies are still themselves. Your instinct makes you turn to who?

I would be able to trust Twilight since if she was the one who was cloned by a changeling, she would be the one to prove that she isn't one because she's smart. If Chrysalis was smart and knew that Twilight had the capabality of proving that she was the real Twilight, then chrysalis wouldn't have the changeling change into twilight in the first place.

 

or.....you could just get the mane 6 to use the elements of harmony and if one pony fails to perform it then you will know which one is the changeling, because even though changelings can replicate physical appearance, they can't replicate the respective pony's cutiemark and the power it contains.

I would think Chrysalis would expect me to turn to the smart ones for help, but that's just me.

 

Using the elements wouldn't be a bad idea though..... if I could convince them to do it without making myself look crazy.

Definitely Twilight. Because, like...yeah. You know. And/or Applejack and I'm only saying this because she's honesty and...I KNOW WHEN SOMEONE IS LYING! Watch out...

Definitely Twilight, because she's already defeated Chrys before she gained wings. It would be too much trouble to ponynap and confine her somewhere. She could magic out, either by teleportation or blasting out with it.

Cadence and Shining Armor defeated Chrysalis, not Twilight. And Twilight was put to sleep by some gas spouting plants in the Season 4 premiere and still needed help from her friends. It would be difficult, but I don't see her being that much less vulnerable to capture than the others.

Know your foe:

Since this vermin has a lot in common with arthropods, an easy method of differentiation is to inflict minor trauma with a sharp object. These things ain’t red on the inside.

 

Invite Twilight out on a hayburger under the pretense that you need to talk to her about a major friendship problem. You arrange the meeting in hours when all the foals are still in school and most adults are still at work so there are only some ponies inside the fast food joint. While she’s eating, you drop something under the table, and while picking it up, you prick her in a leg with a needle.

 

If the tip is red you reveal the whole plan, and if it’s not, you’ve packed an arbalest net thrower and some toxic bombs in your bag. They can handle it. You’ll also need some pliers, a saw, and an extra large hayburger. Pulling horn and wings off a changeling is hungry work.

 

Put the maimed thing on a leash. A wounded and confused changeling will likely lead you to the hive. Make sure you have some fire cooked up and ready before you go.

I think I'd have to go with Applejack. She'd be one of the hardest of the mane 6 to imitate without making uncharacteristic decisions to push forward evil motives. Twilight could be a close second, but she's too obvious of a target. Maybe Rarity as a backup? I don't know... I probably wouldn't trust Dash, Fluttershy or Pinkie though either.
