If they rebooted FiM for G5, how would you feel if Twilight got glasses?

It would be fine with me.  Cure Moonlight wears glasses when she's not transformed, and she's one of the most badass characters in all of Pretty Cure.

 

Glasses do not mean that the character is a pushover.

I wouldn't boycott G5 or protest in the streets or anything, but I don't really need a nerdy character to have glasses for me to figure out they're nerdy, and I'm assuming that if they gave her glasses they would be the big, stereotypical nerd ones. I felt the same way about human Twilight in EQG, it felt forced.

I would not regard any spin-offs to necessarily be a different generation in the realm of the show's animation. The Generational splits in the cartoons have typically been accompanied by changes in universe, and occasionally animation style. G1 was in the fantasy-themed Ponyland, what is typically called G2 in the cartoons (it's actually still G1, but it's different enough in flavor that it's typically separated, at least by bronies) was in the teeny-bopper Ponyville, G3 took place in the much more explicitly toyetic Ponyville, and G3.5 rebooted the character set and limited it to the "Core 7."

 

G4 then presented a completely new set of characters, and a completely different world. It stands to reason G5 would do the same thing, and so the question is moot.

 

However, if a spin-off occurred, I would rather it be because Twilight has aged, with a new generation of heroes of Equestria having taken the Mane 6's place. In that case, Twilight with reading glasses would have me thrilled.
