CastletonSnob 3,089 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 If you had to choose between a Guardians of Harmony show, or an Equestria Girls show, which would it be?
cmarston1 5,964 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 Definitely an EQG show, no contest. I have been wanting it for a while now, ever sense the rumor of the whole Equestria Academy thing happened. I feel like there is still room to do more with the characters and fully embrace the fantasy elements that just wouldn't be able to be done justice in only movie format. Plus I feel like some of said characters still have more room to develop. Such as human Applejack due to the nature of what to do after high school and whether or not she wants to stay with her family traditions of forge her own path could actually give her a noticeable character arc, which would be more than I can say for pony Applejack has had over the course of FIM.
Mesme Rize 15,692 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 I think i would be more comfortable with an EQG series, because that one atleast keeps the magic of FiM intact, instead of being just another action oriented Cartoon, like GoH tries to be. 1 My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. Mesme Rize 15,692 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 But it would just be a generic high school girls show. And what is Friendship is magic in your opinion? You don't even know what comes out of it. 1 My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. BastementSparkle 20,335 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 Both sound interesting to me. But personally, I think I'd prefer an EQG show, for a few reasons. More Sunset, the possibility of tackling life lessons and Friendship problems that the main Pony show might not be able to because of it's setting, extra development for the human mane six to set them more apart from their pony counterparts, more Sunset, more potential for stories involving how magic from Equestria effects the human world, possibly dealing with slightly more mature topics, more Sunset... Plus, it's just more familiar at this point. We've had 3, soon to be 4 movies and some fun shorts set in the EQG world, I already know I like it. Guardians of Harmony could definitely be fun, because I do like the action/adventure side of MLP, but I like it more as something that only happens sometimes, and a full series of it might not be as interesting to me. ...I mentioned more Sunset, right? 1 Twilight is best pony. Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?
cmarston1 5,964 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 But it would just be a generic high school girls show. Because as we all know, every high school show features teenage girls fighting against the forces of evil using magic gifted upon them from another dimension.
PiratePony 8,490 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 I'd watch an Equestria Girls show in a heartbeat. We keep the Mane 6, Sunny and the feeling of Friendship Is Magic. Win win win. 2 Courtesy of @Sparklefan1234

Agreed. I also prefer slice of life shows to action shows myself, personally. Edited September 3, 2016 by Sparklefan1234
Megas 28,117 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 Definitely EQG, as I've said repeatedly, GoH comes off as making My Little Pony edgy
SpectraDust 149 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 I'm fine with both. I've been been a huge fan of EQG, but I'd probably prefer it to GOH, it depends what GOH would be about.
DuskRain 193 September 3, 2016 Share September 3, 2016 (edited) I hate EQG, but I also think that FiM needs to end soon. I really want to keep equestria and maybe the main 6, but FiM is getting out of hand. Goat-kun 2,531 September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 Reinforcements! Let’s butter some bread. The winds of change have been running through western cartoons for quite some time now. The lines between east and west are becoming increasingly blurred. The worlds are becoming more fantastical yet their content is becoming more grounded. Make no mistake: more magical girl shows are coming. Most will fade like transient sparks, but some shall grow into proper stars that will guide imagination of our children. I’m afraid that EQG, though remaining relatively profitable, shall vanish into obscurity soon enough as it displays neither the charm of high school social battlefield nor the volatile wonders of magical adventure. It has a clean, sterile environment completely controlled by the Friendship Directive. It bears the stench of the same no-risk mentality that compelled Nick to reject Adventure Time. You all like to speak of character development and interesting stories. Do you really think a high school show about seven female best friends (4ever&ever) + dog would fare better in these departments that a GoH show? People, boys and girls, like adventure. They like to see exciting new places. They like to experience new things. They like to see their favorite characters be put in situations where they can shine and/or grow. GoH could provide all that with ease. Adventure doesn’t mean nonstop action. It doesn’t mean brutal violence. It means change and evolution of both the characters and the world itself. Also, many adventures have episodes that can easily be taken for slice of life, and episodes that prod deep into the characters themselves. In other words: it offers unparallel plot freedom. TL; DR: GoH has the tools for the future. EQG does not. P.S: Saying something shouldn’t be made because there are similar things already out there is an idiotic mentality that brings no progress. It is used by people with selfish agendas that want to make their causes seem nobler that they are. Now I don’t know what kind of hairy caterpillars some have been munching, but equating all action adventure with edgy bullshit has pretty much become Poniverse version of Muh Racism. It’s being thrown at anything related to action and adventure without any decent explanation which is kinda annoying. P.P.S: I’ve stated that GoH would likely fail miserably and I still stand behind my assessment. But I’d prefer for MLP to try and fail rather than to see it cower behind the crumbling wall of same corporate wisdom that brought us Teen Titans GO and Powerpuff reboot. Buck that bull. IsraelYabuki 449 September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 Come on, it's obvious that EQG deserves it's own TV show. Hands down, no contest
