I think it's a lucky coincidence that in regard for the CMCs nick-naming Gabriella as Gabby in the first place. Great and interesting find but "Gabby Gums" already apologized after the hurtful gossip in Ponyville Confidential so I think it's like a double-reform and reassurance like Trixie, one time she say it and the second one she portray her remorse.

The entire time I was thinking of Gabby Gums, I feel like there is at least a small connection. I mean, Gabby Gums sounds like the perfect full name for Gabby herself, since she was constantly going nuts. Of course by this I mean a small connection writing-wise. XD I am not entirely sure about the incarnation plot.

If it weren't for the Cutecenera and maybe the letter drop-off with Twilight (I'm not sure Twi ever said she actually saw Gabby, but that someone dropped off a letter and rushed away), one could argue Gabby was all a made-up invention of the CMC and she only exists in their collective ImAGinNAAaation.

 

All those scenes of "Gabby" helping others was how the CMC were seeing it even though it was actually them who were doing the helping.

 

Basically the Gabby Gums incident was finally too painful a memory for the CMC to deal with so they had a psychotic break, causing them to hallucinate this ultra-friendly and unrealistically perfect griffon to make up for all the harm they caused. XD

 

But the Cutecenera scene kinda ruins my theory. X3

Yeah I've been wondering what people were talking about with Gabby Gums on this forums. People just went on and on about it, turns out Gabby Gums was the fake pen name used by the CMC to pull up dirt on other ponies on Ponyville just to sell papers and was actually a reference to Gossip Girl whatever that was.
