Should there be more variety in G5's mane cast?

There's no doubt that sooner or later there will eventually be a new generation of MLP. Now, there's pretty much always been a diverse cast of main characters in MLP's history, involving Pegasus, unicorns, and earth ponies. But g3 went the extra mile to put fillies (Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle) with the adults, rather than on their own , as g4 does. Should g5 have their main cast even MORE diverse?

Example: 1 adult unicorn mare, 1 adult Earth pony stallion, 1 adult Pegasus mare, 1 colt unicorn, 1 colt Pegasus, and 1 filly earth pony to give the group 3 boys of all races/both old and young, and 3 girls of all races/ both old and young.

Could this work? Would this be something you guys think people would like and relate to?  (Befriending people of different age groups and sexes/seeing them as equal) What do you guys think?

No, I don't think so.

Here's why:

1. MLP: FIM is one of only a few TV shows I've seen that features strong female characters without being preachy and obnoxious.

A lot of series try to shove the writers' social and political views down your throat ("Look at us! See how progressive we are? You're a BAD person if you disagree with us!").

2. Friendship Is Magic is ultimately a show for little girls; Bronies are just tagging along for the ride.

3. I probably won't watch any G5 shows/movies--I'm not a fan of the entire MLP franchise, I'm specifically a G4 fan

The Brony Code:

Humans are a lie, there are only ponies. Through ponies, I gain friendship.

Through friendship, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory.

Through victory, my chains are broken. Ponies shall set me free.

^These. That said, after watching previous gen stuff out of curiosity, I can definitively say that I'm a FiM fan and that's it regarding MLP, but I'm also willing to give Hasbro/DHX a chance to recapture the magic of FiM in a new series. I'm not sure what the odds are of lightning striking twice, so to speak, but they could have another hit series on their hands if it's done right. I'm assuming that FiM's success will mean that it's the new benchmark to base future series off of.

To answer the OP, no, I don't think gender diversification in an MLP mane cast is strictly necessary. The series has done just fine with all mares, and there are a good amount of colts and stallions in the supporting cast, as well as other male characters like Spike and Discord. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's how a series ends up losing its identity. Some selling out to fans is ok with me. Season 5 is like a love letter to fans that practically goes down the collective wish list and checks off multiple items. But, I'd rather MLP stay MLP as it won over its fans, including the Brony demographic, without having to bend over backwards. I see no reason why a new series would be any different.

I also concur that MLP is best in its current state in regards to its character composition. Having male secondary characters could be good while having an all female main cast. We don't need all kinds of random stuff going on in the next generation. It's not to say that it should be simple. Make it diverse in terms of personality and backstory. Maybe even have a character like Scootaloo who can't fly in the main cast. I think they almost had that with Fluttershy. But anyway, having a filly in the main cast could be good if you don't already count the Cutie Mark Crusaders as an extension of the main cast in G4 already. I'm hoping their choices will at least make sense.
