I have almost every episode on my hard drive from VHS rips. I really wish  this show had an ultimate blu ray set, but I can't imagine that ever happening. Robert Stack has been in  other movies before, but I will always remember him for being "the voice" accompanying the eerie and illusive theme song. Along with the very dated, yet creepy skits. Anyone who loves the show, lets talk about it here.

I remember it vaguely. I am a fan of paranormal stuff. I used to listen to Coast to Coast but I am too busy these days. I have a few books on the topic.

I remember seeing it a lot when I was younger. I liked it quite a lot back then. I haven't seen it in a few years now. Wasn't Robert Stack replaced by a different host?

I mostly watch other paranormal shows now, but maybe it's worth taking another look.

A quick summary of the history of the show... It started out as a series of specials in 1986 that aired on NBS hosted by David Birney and Meredith Baxter. It was originally called Missing..... Have you seen this person?

 

Before the famous theme song even aired, Unsolved Mysteries again was just a series of specials that were short. I call this season 0. Because Robert Stack wasn't the first host.. Raymond Burr was first, then Karl Malden and then Robert Stack took over thankfully for the entire 13 seasons. 

 

Original series aired from 1987-2003. Spike tv eventually ruined the series when they tried turning it into a Forensic Files+America's Most Wanted rip off. In 2008 the new series came, it removed the theme song... Robert Stack died in 2003, so the new host Dennis Farina came in. They even edited older episodes to make it feel "new"... The entire new series was a disaster because it only last a year. So Lifetime acquired the rights back in 2013 and in the UK they will air re runs in the wee hours of the morning from what I been told.

Oooooh yeah. I remember watching this with my mom and grandparents right after the X-Files. I was super impressionable at that age so whenever Unsolved Mysteries had paranormal episodes after the X-Files, I would think aliens were really watching me; that there were different dimensions in the stars that travellers go to. I even had paranormal dreams. I predicted my neighbours roof falling, I accurately predicted the outcome of ten sports games, I knew what people where gonna say before they said it. Whenever I saw strange lights in the sky I would think it was aliens coming to spy on me or take me to their Universe.

Oh man, I remember the Boston Strangler, didn't they make a lifetime movie out of it?

 

Also, does anyone remember which episode was the Alien sightings one? I'm an amateur alien hunter.

I think it was season4, I forget the episode name. But 4 friends went boating and claimed they were abducted when they saw a floating or in the sky.
