Azureth 687 October 11, 2016 #1 Share October 11, 2016 Not that it's that big of a deal, but I noticed S6 relative to other seasons didn't have that many. Heck, it's the only season where even the season finale didn't have a song. Again, not that big a deal, just curious.
Thrond 3,263 October 11, 2016 #2 Share October 11, 2016 Could be because Ingram & co. are busy with the movie and Equestria Girls.
Marimo 555 October 11, 2016 #3 Share October 11, 2016 There's still about 10 songs, 12 if you count reprisals. I believe the average for a full season is about 16. Plus, Daniel might've been busy. In a tweet he made earlier this year, he said he had to pump out 28 new songs for an upcoming Netflix series.

Plus, there's the Netflix series mentioned in @Marimo's post. I will say that the quality of songs was mostly consistent with that of previous seasons. A Hearth's Warming Tail was a big part of that because honestly I think it featured some of Daniel Ingram's best work. 1 Signature by Kyoshi

I liked the songs more this season than in season 5, actually!
Sonic5421 425 October 12, 2016 #8 Share October 12, 2016 With the movie, Season 7, and three Equestria Girls specials coming up next year, Ingram and the others must be busy with songs for all of them, so that would explain the lack of many songs in Season 6, including one in the finale, especially considering how dark it was compared to other season finales. PiratePony 8,476 October 12, 2016 #10 Share October 12, 2016 I think that it's movie prep, as their priorities right now. Plus the songs we got were pretty outstanding. (and I'm seeing the season on "real time" so I don't know about the finale, but I hear good things). Courtesy of @Sparklefan1234
