CastletonSnob 3,079 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 With the 3 EQG specials coming in 2017, do you think they're planning to make a full-fledged show?If they are, what plots would you like to see?
Ganondorf8 11,364 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 The three specials could their means of seeing if Equestria Girls can succeed at being a regular twenty-two minute episodic cartoon series, but then it might be because of the 2017 movie coming out. DHX might not be willing to work on two movies at once especially with the latter having a much bigger budget than anything Equestria Girls or even the show has had. If a series were to happen, I'd want it to focus on the Rainbooms coming to grips with their new powers and trying to balance between living out their lives and dealing with problems that come up courtesy of Equestria.
HereComesTom 2,268 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 If they do an EQG show, one idea they could try is that the pony!main six and the human!main six merge together, somehow, and they need to come to grips with their new double-life. ...I dunno; that one would need to be handled carefully for it to actually work out...but it would allow for some interesting MLP Transformers! NeonCobalt 256 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 It's a possibility. I'd honestly welcome it, because I think that, as much as I like EQG, it could benefit from having more screen time per year to flesh things out, which a TV series would definitely provide. Steve Piranha 29,432 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 With the 3 EQG specials coming in 2017, do you think they're planning to make a full-fledged show? If they are, what plots would you like to see? I think that'll depend of the success of the shorts and the toys in the long run . Plots? I can't see anything beyond humans possessing and losing control of haywire equestrian magic. But since these are 22 mins specials, I doubt we'll have much time in introducing new villains, so I suppose we'll either use previous film antagonist, or human counterparts we have yet to see (ex: Coco Pommel) Sig by Discords
Wind Chaser 4,768 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 I'm not fully onboard with the idea of an EqG series, especially not if it would mean supplanting or diluting FiM in any way. But specials are a good way to keep it down to low doses without making more movies. I personally believe the shorts are one of the best things about EqG and I believe the characters would adapt considerably better to a shorter format than the feature films. Part of me is thinking and hoping these are holiday specials; these are generally the first (often only) kinds of specials that productions made originally for the American market will generate as they are the most lucrative, drawing in higher concentrations of viewers and more ad dollars than a regular production. cmarston1 5,959 November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 I really hope that we finally get a TV series soon, with how LoE ended, there's enough potent to go with it.
