 I agree with this. True friends—and even found family—can be stronger than the places we’re born into. We grieve when they suffer. We sit with them when they hurt. We laugh and play because we feel safe and understood in their presence.

No, we may not live next door, and we may never meet face to face. But video and voice, emails, letters, or small gifts sent across distance—these are still connections. And connection is what family has always been made of.
