Yeah I havnt played a FPS since Crysis 2. Everything just seems too easy now. In Bad Company 2 me and my friends would just push them back to spawn and the rest of the game would be a slaughter. I am really excited for BF3 though, and I will probably pick up MW3 sometime later.

The scale of combat in the Battlefield series has always had an appeal to me that CoD just can't live up to. And I am coming from the perspective of the old school Battlefield games(1942, Vietnam, & Battlefield 2) when saying this. I was never much of a fan of the Bad Company games.

Bad company 2 redeemed and reinvigorated the BF series I feel. But yeah nothing beats BF2.... Until bf3

I really can't stand CoD.

Going through all of the reasons would just take too long, so I'll do it anyways.

I really hate how people little kids on the game brag about their .3 kdr.

I hate how quickscopers think they're pro. They just get really lucky.

I can't stand all of the hackers in the game, it makes the game unplayable.

I can't stand how the game is based over who has the better class under certain situations, rather than skill, which is what halo 3 is based around. Of course unless someone got a shotgun.

I really don't like how they buffed noob tubing in mw3, really, why did they have to do that.

The list goes on for that game.

Just to keep this post positive, I'm going to include why I like BF3.

Planes, tanks, and vehicles.

Balanced weapons, and bullet drop.

Good community.

People who actually know squad based combat.

Decent graphics. (Black ops looks like someone drew the game with a crayon)

And lastly, larger maps.

I honestly can't really decide which game is better. In COD you have loud people who try to insult you because you kill them. In battlefield you try to act like you are in the army, and a person with an auto- sniper runs up and shoots you about three times. If I really had to decide, I would say Battlefield just because of the community. The COD community has almost always been full of jerks, and still is.

I feel like the loud mouthed cod crowd stereotype is just that. A stereo type. I almost never experienced it when I played. Still cant wait to get back into some BF.

It doesn't matter what game it is, the people who buy the CoD games are able to buy BF3. So, people could call you trash and noob or whatever on BF3, too. You know, gamers aren't limited to a certain game. Which is why I'm buying both BF3 and MW3.

1. They're idiots, ignore them.

2. If you are an actual good quick-scoper (like me), you are good, and no it's not luck, it is skill.

3. There are hackers in the way older CoD games like CoD 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. But that's it. The security in those games were bad because of the time they were made, that's why. There are no longer hackers in MW2 or Black Ops.

4. Halo 3 was under powered, it takes literally 900000000000 shots just to kill one guy, it's very stupid.

5. Noob tubing in MW3? Wrong. The explosions in MW3 have drastically been powered down, it's very unlikely that you will ever get a kill with a noob tube in MW3.

Also, a new engine doesn't make a game. ;)

Stealthies? What?

Well, i feel Battlefield is a game where you have to use tactic and stealth more than being able to run out and take some damage before going down. And im not very good at stealth or tactics? Edited by Feld0

To me I've played all the original Call of duty games 1-BO, All the Battlefield games. 1942-BFBC2 and so on.

And my opinon personally is that in the beginning, COD games were better than Battlefield, but tied with Medal of Honor. But when COD skipped over to the modern warfare series they lost me. The games are good yes, but to me they just don't give me the feel of having fun. That i guess is mainly because i'm a fan of using tactics instead of run and gun moves.

But i do like the zombie mode on Black Ops though.

There's also the bit about vehicles. I personally think they bring alot to a game play wise. which is one thing that's kept me to the Battlefield series.

In short: I'm the guy that likes to plan his attack well then execute it perfectly. Instead of just running out shooting and hoping for the best. And thats why i prefer the Battlefield series.

Honestly, I know I said Battlefield is better, but I actually hate modern games. I like WW II games or futuristic games, but games that are present times are just overused and overdone.

  • 3 weeks later...

the entire BF3 vs. MW3 argument usually ends up with people saying silly things such as "MW is faster paced" or "BF is realistic". Even though there is some truth behind those statements neither makes a superior product. I judge simply by how fun it is. Battlefield 3 is not fun to me, so I'm selling it and I might check out MW3.

And your point?

The people say those things is because they are TRUE for those games. So why would stating facts be annoying?

they are true facts but none of them make a game better than the other.
