There's got to be unexpected surprises, but I'm guessing Queen Chrysalis will be dealt with once and for all---maybe she'll die, maybe she'll end up in Tartarus, I dunno.  She seems like a good villain to topple for a grand finale.

You know what I'd like? For the final Two-parter of the series to actually be episodes 24-25 of the season, dealing with the final villain or threat of the series there, and then to have episode 26 be something more like "The Best Night ever!" a single part more Slice of life finale.

 

 I want it to end on a good note with all the mane six and the extended cast, like the CMC, Spike, Starlight, Discord, The Royal Sisters, Shining, Cadance and Flurry, etc all together and having a good time, just being friends.

The mane 6 all go their separate ways do their lives taking them in different directions.

They have to learn to deal with that, and reflect upon all that they have been through together.

The final shot could be a timeskip several years later of them finally meeting with one another after a long time and enjoying their company together.

I expect little subtle nods to how the Mane Six's lives have changed since becoming friends.

The main 6 have a epic battle with Chrysalis and then it reveals that she is some sort of robot when they damage her. And her endoskeleton face was a ponifide version of the terminator.

I think the series finale would be a TV movie that involves a time-jump, when all the characters moved on with their lives. Rarity becomes a very successful business pony in a big corporation and doesn't have time for friends anymore, the Apple family farms become more successful which causes Applejack to be busier than ever, Pinkie becomes a travelling party pony like Cheese Sandwich, Rainbow Dash becomes the new captain of the Wonderbolts after Spitfire gets promoted general, Fluttershy opens up a huge animal shelter, Spike becomes Equestria's new ambassador, the CMCs become a nation-wide corporation to help ponies in need of cutie mark help, and Starlight would travel around Equestria helping Trixie out with her shows.

 

The finale would involve friends moving on with their lives, and Twilight would end up alone trying to replace her friends who are way too busy for her anymore. That is when Equestria gets in trouble again, and it involve reuniting her friends to save the day. The moral would be: friends move on, but if they really care, it wouldn't be forever! 

 

 BEST. SERIES FINALE. EVER!
