Are there any shows that went downhill for some time and then managed to regain their mojo and become good again?

In my subjective opinion the examples are Adventure Time and Doctor Who.
 

AT’s season 6 was kinda boring (except for the last part), and many people lost interest in it at that time or even earlier. The trend of saying “Adventure Time is not good anymore” is still up today, so my opinion probably will be unpopular, but season 7, IMO, was magnificent, maybe except for the finale.
 

As for Doctor Who, the River Song’s soap opera-ish arc dragged on and the Ponds overstayed their welcome, but Clara’s introduction made the show great again (for me at least).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)- The space arc that made up the first half of Season 4 was mostly a chore. The arc could have been great as a 5 parter, but stretched out to 14, the plot lost its sense of urgency and tension.

 

Fortunately, the City At War managed to bring back that sense of danger and excitement that the show has been missing.

Red Dwarf. Seasons 8 and 9 are barely worth watching, but the newer stuff is actually pretty good.

TMNT 2012 had the whole farm arc in the beginning of season 3 that went for far too long, but thankfully the series was able to recover from it.

Legend of Korra season 2 had a bit of rough start in its first half, but once it got to the Avatar Wan 2 parter, the season became all kinds of awesome, and the next two seasons were the strongest in the series.

Legend of Korra went from having the worst season(2) in the entire Avatar series to one of the best(S3), which was followed by another fantastic one(4)
