Well THAT was surprising! Pony commercials

I saw a commercial for Explore Equestria crystal castle with baby Flurry Fart, and another for Guardians of Harmony back to back, on local TV for the first time, which is odd, since they've never put out a commercial on any local channels. Quite the surprise!

How did you guys feel seeing an mlp commercial on your TV for the first time?

I remember seeing the commerical for Cadance and Shining Armour in relation to their wedding at the end of season two which featured them and a castle. At the time, I wasn't a part of the fandom so I didn't pay much attention to the commerical, and yet I can still remember it fondly as though it was a premonition about what was to come for me.

I've seen one in my entire fandom experience, i think it was about Crystal Empire Castle or something, i dnno...
But the fact is a fact - i've seen a TV commercial on MLP, and i can't forget that moment. It was about a year ago tho, on the Ukrainian channel for kids (Main place where every single Ukrainian soul is watching MLP...I think so at least, 'cause I watch ponies on official language by the net tho XD)

I have seen a lot of these commercials before I joined the fandom and afterwards too. I have always felt troubled, because the toy commercials were always...well, pandering to little girls. Continuing to keep that stereotype alive. Now of course we could argue all day about 'target demographics' and all that, but for me *personally*, I don't like how they do the commercials. Haven't seen any really recent commercials though so they could be different but I doubt it.

I don't see pony commercials all too often because I don't think I watch channels that air them. I saw a Cutie Mark Magic commercial on Cartoon Network but I forgot what show I was watching.

The MLP producers are really excited for season 7. They have said that this is going to be the biggest year yet for MLP, so I think they are trying to remind former bronies about the show (and sell toys). Glad to see they are going all out with commercials. There is a typo in your post, you put flurry fart lol

I had a very similar experience. 2012 April, I heard several ads on the radio cordially inviting the listener to a royal wedding. A year and a half late, bam instant brony.

I always hated the mlp commercials when I was a kid but it was not for FiM

Yeah, most of the commercials I ever saw for it predated the TV show by several years. Odd that they kind of disappeared when the show came out.

Really, the radio? (I can't tell if you're joking!) I'm imagining the Canterlot Wedding storyline as a radio drama...perhaps narrated by Orson Welles
