Erebys Song's (Disney Style)

Hello.

In this place, I will put musics which are related to Erebys, my comic.

 

Often, songs will be in a anime / Disney style. But sometimes, I'll try some differents things :).

In any case, they will be immersive and intense. I mean, I will do my best for it

So, the first is about Luna :

Ok. 

 

It's a great piece. 

 

However, you need to work on your orchestration in terms of organization. Disney style pieces usually follow "The Bell Curve Format". Sometimes, the bell curve can be moved to start at a mid energy, to a climax and back down to soft. At 1:20, a rolling crescendoing timpani would be a perfect transition because then, it can lead into that short suspended cymbal crescendoing roll. In dynamic terms, your were around forte. Before that part, you were around mezzo-piano. From mezzo-piano to forte is quite a dynamic jump without at least a crescendo somewhere in between. Honestly, I'd just go mezzo-forte, which then if you want to, you can lead into forte after. Some of the soft cymbal crashes were out of place. I'd only put them to emphasize the start of a new phrase or in the middle of one. For additional solo instruments or small groups, a pair of french horns would work in the middle of the piece. Just make sure they are placed around mezzo-forte. 

 

In terms of your vocals, the singer needs what is called vibrato. Her voice is nice, but with added vibrato on certain notes, it could really add more of the emotion. Vibrato is modulation of a pitch, usually down a half-step, back and forth from one pitch to the next (example C-B-C-B-etc...) For effects, I see you put reverb on the singer. However, the reverb was too shallow. It needs to be a wider and longer reverb give it more of the angelic feel you were looking for. Also, it would be best if you run your vocals through a compressor to bring in the volume range ever so slightly. Lower the attack and add some gain on the compressor to give the vocals a slight punch on diction of certain consonants like S's and T's. 

 

All in all, it's a beautiful piece, but it could still use quite a bit of work in terms of orchestration, vocal technique and overall mastering. I'm here if you need any clarification on anything I said in my critique. PM me if you want.

You can add me. I have almost 18 years of musical experience and the majority of that is classical training.

I just practise with my "feelings". I have absolutely no theory. Maybe it's the time to learn some lessons..
